The Bobcat Bulletin
Welcome Back to School 2025-2026!
November 8, 2025
💜 A Message from Michelle Britton- Action Needed 💚
In honor of World Kindness Day (November 13) and Veterans Day (November 11), Indian Lane is celebrating kindness and gratitude through two special schoolwide projects.
Each student received a Hall of Kindness template to recognize someone in their life who shows kindness, such as a family member, teacher, coach, or neighbor. These will become part of our Hall of Kindness display, celebrating the caring people who make our community so special.
Students also received a Veterans Star to honor a veteran or active service member in their family. These stars will be added to our Wall of Honor, located outside the Main Office, as a tribute to those who have served our country.
Action Needed: Please check your child’s folder today for both the Kindness Week template and the Veterans Star.
We highly encourage including photos of these important people in your child’s life. Please write your child’s name and homeroom on the back of any photo sent in.
Both displays will be proudly showcased throughout the month of November as we celebrate kindness and gratitude across Indian Lane.

Family Progress Report Survey
Dear Families,
Our district is in the process of revamping our K–5 standards-based progress reports to ensure they clearly communicate student learning and reflect best practices in reporting student progress.
Your perspective is important to us. We invite you to take a short, 3 question survey to share your thoughts and experiences with our current progress reports. This survey will close on November 30th. Your feedback will help guide updates that make these reports more meaningful and user-friendly for families and students.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking here.
DONATE YOUR HALLOWEEN CANDY!
After trick-or-treating this Halloween, share some of your extra candy to help bring smiles to others in need. The ILES Student Council is collecting candy from November 3 to 21 to donate to local shelters and food programs, including the West Chester Food Cupboard, Life Center Shelters in Delaware County, and the Guiding Star Maternity Home. Your sweet donations will become desserts for children and families who don’t often get treats with their meals. Every candy bar makes a difference, and every act of kindness counts! Let’s make life a little sweeter for others this season. 💛
Holiday Support and Resources for Families
With the fall and winter holidays upon us, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and let families know that there are some resources available for those who may need a little extra support during this time. We have a few programs that can help in various ways, so please contact me to learn more! You can reach me by email at jhilden@rtmsd.org or by phone at 610-627-7103.
Additional District Resources and Ways to Give Back
There are several wonderful ways through Rose Tree Media to support Indian Lane families this season:
-
RTM Winter Coat Donation Drive – Drop off gently used coats in the main office until November 7. Please note that our past donor is not able to contribute this year, so your donations are especially appreciated.
-
Delaware County Food Bank Donations – A wonderful resource that provides a list of local donation sites for non-perishable food items.
-
Circle of Giving – Originally created at the start of the pandemic, this organization continues to support RTMSD families with essentials such as food, paper products, and hygiene items. Donations go directly to Ms. Martinez (School Social Worker) and Ms. Dacanay (Home and School Visitor), who distribute them to families in need.
If you have any questions, please contact:
Ms. Dacanay – bdacanay@rtmsd.org
Ms. Martinez – cmartinez@rtmsd.org
World Kindness Day
In honor of World Kindness Day on November 13, Indian Lane is launching a schoolwide project to celebrate the many acts of kindness that make our community so special. Each Bobcat will help create our very own Hall of Kindness by recognizing the people in our students’ lives who embody kindness, such as family members, coaches, neighbors, teachers, bus drivers, and many others. Students will create individual profiles highlighting their nominees and sharing why they were chosen. Students will receive their Hall of Kindness templates in their folders on Wednesday. All completed profiles are due back no later than Tuesday, November 12, in celebration of World Kindness Day. We would love for each student to include a photo of the person they are nominating. Photos help bring our Hall of Kindness to life and allow us to visually celebrate the caring people who make a difference in our students’ lives. This project connects to our World Kindness goal and reflects our commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging. By sharing a piece of their home lives at school, students help us celebrate the diverse relationships and experiences that shape our caring community. Together, our Hall of Kindness will remind us that every act of kindness, big or small, helps make Indian Lane a place where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.
E-Wallet Funds
Book Fair eWallet makes it easy to pay without sending cash or checks with your child. Simply set up an account online, add funds electronically, and your child can shop. Please note that any money left unspent will remain as a credit for any future Scholastic purchases.
If you have used eWallet in the past & have a remaining credit, you must login to your account and transfer the funds to be used at the November book fair.
Using eWallet helps the book fair run more smoothly. Therefore, it is the preferred payment method. For more information, click the link below.
Important Book Fair Reminders
We are required to charge tax on purchases at the book fair, so please add 6% to prices.
Volunteers are needed! Please sign up to volunteer or email thatton@rtmsd.org.
Clearances Needed: Parent volunteers (helping all kids, checking out, etc.) must have clearances.
Clearances NOT Needed: Parents coming to shop with their child during the scheduled class time.
Younger siblings may accompany parents to shop at the book fair.
Please send in a reusable bag for your child to use for book fair purchases.
Ziploc bags are excellent for sending in money & sending home change. Use a Sharpie to write your child’s name on the Ziploc bag.
The book fair is open during Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 24th & 25th. Stop by to get a head start on holiday shopping that supports Indian Lane.
Please consider adding funds to "Share the Fair." This directly helps to purchase books for our Indian Lane students at the book fair.

American Education Week & Parent Visitation
🍎 November 17th–21st 🍎
We are so excited to celebrate American Education Week from November 17th to 21st! As part of the celebration, we will be hosting an Open House, and we warmly invite our parents and guardians to step into our classrooms and experience a short “day in the life” of your student. Because this event takes place during regular instructional time, it will be for adults only. We are unable to accommodate younger children or siblings, as classrooms will be actively engaged in lessons and space is limited. To ensure everyone has a comfortable experience, we kindly ask that each student have no more than two guests. When you arrive, please sign in at the main lobby. You do not need Clearances to attend. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing a glimpse into all the wonderful learning happening in our classrooms!

A Message from the PTG- The Bobcat Campaign
Fundraiser to Support the PTG & Our Students
Bobcat Campaign Facts
What is it? The Bobcat Club Campaign is a PTG fundraiser created to allow Indian Lane families a way to donate money directly to IL PTG instead of traditional buying/selling fundraisers (for example, wrapping paper, silent auction, cookie sales, etc.)
The campaign is our main fundraiser and we do it at the start of the school year. The money we collect sets our budget for the year. The more money we collect, the more we can do!
100% of your donation supports PTG events like the Holiday Extravaganza, Bingo for Books, the Bobcat Winter Festival, Kindergarten Ice Cream Social, Popsicles on the Playground, Run-the-Lane, Teacher Luncheons... and more!
Our goal is to achieve 100% family participation. Simply decide what amount you are comfortable with giving and make a one-time donation.
To continue to support Indian Lane with our current PTG events and to avoid the need for additional fundraisers during the upcoming school year, we need your support to reach our fundraising goal of $13,000. This is our 2025-26 operating budget, not a savings account.
Donations are on the household level and all donations are appreciated and confidential.
Your donation may be tax deductible and many companies have programs that will match the charitable contributions made by their employees. Check with your company today!
All families that donate will get a 2025-26 school year magnet!
Donate to the Bobcat Club Campaign Today! Here's How:
- Click this link or scan this QR code and fill out the Google form with the details of your donation
- Choose your payment method (Venmo, PayPal, Cash, or Check payable to ILES PTG) and make your donation following the instructions provided below.
- That's it! You're done!
IMPORTANT: No matter the method of payment, please fill out the Google form from Step 1 above and include a note/memo it’s for the Campaign and your family/student’s name.
Music Concert Update for December Sing-A-Long
The December Sing-Along is one of the most joyful and heartwarming traditions at Indian Lane. Our students love coming together, and it has always been so special to welcome families to share in the celebration. Over the past few years, families have kindly shared with me that the gym has become more and more crowded, making it difficult to see and enjoy the performance. At the same time, I know how deeply this tradition is loved. With that in mind, Mr. Fisher and I worked together to find a way to keep this wonderful tradition alive while making it even more comfortable for everyone.
This year, we will hold two concerts on the same day instead of one. By expanding to two performances, we can continue the tradition we all treasure, while giving families more space and a better viewing experience. Rather than changing the event, we see this as enhancing it so that everyone feels welcome and included.
Thursday, December 11th:
-
Morning Concert – 9:15 AM
AM Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 4 -
Afternoon Concert – 2:00 PM
PM Kindergarten, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 5
We understand that some families may need to attend both concerts, and we truly appreciate the extra effort this may take. We also plan to still offer a virtual option for those who are not able to attend in person, so that every family has the opportunity to enjoy this tradition.
Please know that this decision was made with great care, based on the thoughtful feedback you have shared. I am so grateful to Mr. Fisher for his willingness to adjust the format, and I am thankful to our families for the love and support you bring to this tradition. We will include a survey after the event to take your feedback on the new format.
