Dear LMES Families,

As we begin November, I want to thank all of our families who joined us for conferences at the end of October. We appreciate you taking the time to connect with your child’s teacher, celebrate their growth, and discuss their learning. Strong partnerships between home and school make a meaningful difference in student success. When we work together, communicate openly, and share a common commitment to each child’s growth, we create the best possible environment for students to learn and thrive.

November is a month when we are reminded to reflect on the many things for which we are thankful. At Lake Mills Elementary, we are especially thankful for our families and the partnership you share with us. Thank you for trusting us with your children, supporting their learning, and being active members of our school community. We are grateful to work alongside you each day to help our L-Cats grow, learn, and succeed!

November 11th is Veterans Day, and our district will be celebrating and honoring the veterans who have served our country. We invite you to help spread the word to family members, friends, and neighbors who are veterans so they can join us for our district’s Veterans Day activities. We are proud to recognize their service and sacrifice and to give our students an opportunity to show their gratitude. Thank you for helping us make this a meaningful celebration for our veterans and our school community.

November Counselor Corner with Ms. Ellerie

Hello LMES Families, and Happy November!

November is such a special time of year - a month that invites us to slow down, appreciate the little things, and notice all that we have to be thankful for. November also provides us the opportunity to pause and focus on gratitude, kindness, and the people who make our lives meaningful. Life is busy, technology is everywhere, and it can be surprisingly easy for families to be in the same home while feeling disconnected. One simple idea to help families create meaningful moments of connection, conversation, and interaction is to choose one evening each week and have a “Thankful Together” conversation. Take turns sharing one thing you’re thankful for, one thing that made you smile that day, and one person you appreciate. Keep it casual—during dinner, in the car, on a walk, or snuggled together before bed.

Fun twist: Create a Family Thankfulness Jar. Throughout November, everyone can add little notes about things they’re thankful for, then read them together at the end of the month. It’s a great reminder that connection doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming—it just requires being present.

Wishing everyone a beautiful month!

Grateful for our school community,

Ms. Ellerie

Classroom Treats

Any treats brought for the whole class need to be store purchased and include the list of ingredients. We have many students with allergies and we want to ensure that everyone stays safe. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we will not be able to share any homemade treats.
