Message From the Admin Team
It's a great day to be an Eagle!
As we begin a brand-new month, we are excited to welcome everyone to September! A new month brings a wonderful opportunity to set new goals, make positive choices, and continue growing together as a school community.
Last Friday, we held our School-Wide FUNd RUN Assembly! It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, have fun, and learn more about how we can support our school. We were so proud of the enthusiasm, excitement, and school spirit our students showed throughout the assembly!
We are looking forward to all of the wonderful things we will accomplish together this September. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community.
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Happy September Eagle Ridge Families!
This year, the counseling department's annual goal is focused on increasing student resilience for the sake of improved academic outcomes, specifically in math and writing. Throughout the building this week, students have learned that to be resilient means to ‘Bounce Back’ when you make a mistake.
School can often be a student’s first experience of a healthy challenge. Whether it occurs in the form of a friendship conflict, a hard math concept they just don’t understand, or increasing their reading comprehension, experiencing challenges can be hard! And we also know– when students are supported in overcoming challenges, they are better prepared for life outside of school. We want students to feel confident and capable that no challenge is greater than their ability to overcome them.
Parent support is crucial in achieving this endeavor. We’d love to have your help at home in increasing student’s academic resiliency. This doesn’t have to be a chore or take away from fun family time– it can be in addition to it!
Consider the following ideas:
Family Game Night: Play a card or board game where addition or score keeping is involved. Have your student add each person’s scores up to identify the winner.
Uno: Players match colors or numbers and add up points from remaining cards in opponents' hands at the end of each round.
Sleeping Queens: Players wake up royal cards using knights and potions, then add up the queen point values to win.
Skip-Bo: Players build sequential number stacks from 1 to 12 and keep a running tally of points across multiple hands.
2) Evening Reading: Integrating reading as a part of your child’s evening routine not only has relational benefits but academic as well! Students who read with their caregiver or guardian: develop stronger language skills, have a stronger attention span, memory, and concentration skills, and have a greater ability to relationally connect and regulate their emotions.
3) Identify the positives of the day: Remaining positive or optimistic in hard moments shapes learners brain to believe that challenges don’t always end in negative outcomes. Take a moment at the end of the day to identify all the good things that happened throughout the day.
We look forward to partnering with you and your student(s) to overcome healthy challenges throughout this school year. We believe in your child and can’t wait to see them resiliently thrive this school year.
Sincerely,
Linda Lieber & Laura Miller
