What an amazing last week of Term 2, with all of our NAIDOC activities. Thank you to Miss Di for the respectful Liturgy on the Monday with our flag raising ceremony and to all the students who volunteered for roles. Also a BIG thank you to Miss Caroline and the NAIDOC Team for organising such a great activity day and morning tea. We also acknowledge the support of the community members who ran activities on the day.

A reminder to families that all students from Kindy to Year 6 are expected to attend school in the required school uniform and colours. Students are expected to wear the Boab school shirt and royal blue shorts/skorts only. Black shorts, leggings of any colour, bike shorts of any colour, or track pants of any colour are not part of our school uniform. Families are encouraged to purchase a royal blue jumper if students are cold from Admin. Also ALL students from Year 1 - 6 MUST wear sports shoes or sandals with back straps to school or they will not be permitted to play during recess and lunch as these shoe styles are safe to wear for all activities across the day. Students are not permitted to wear crocs to school as they are not considered safe footwear.

Our Year 3 and Year 5 students will be participating in the Religious Education Assessment this term. Miss Di will send details to those families involved closer to the date. The test is similar to NAPLAN and provides the school and CEWA with information regarding how our religious studies are being taught across the school. Over recent years Holy Rosary's growth in this area has been fantastic and we have had the most growth compared to other Kimberley school and numerous metropolitan schools a reflection of how well we embed this program across the school.

We look forward to an amazing term full of exciting learning activities and experiences across the school.

God Bless.

Miss Melanie

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Following consultation with parent groups and school leaders, Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) has introduced a new Parent and Carer Code of Conduct. The Parent and Carer Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members of our Catholic school community, with the commitment to maintain schools as safe, welcoming and supportive environments for our students. It is located on our school website if you would like to read.

I am pleased to share a letter from Annette Morey, CEWA’s Executive Director, and Siobhan Allen, Executive Director of Catholic School Parents Western Australia, communicating this important update. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely

Miss Melanie

If your child has a medical plan please ensure when updated with your GP that a copy is provided to Admin. Staff are not permitted to administer medication without a plan and can only administer using plans supplied to the school (even if outdated).

For students with Asthma, it is essential that their plan is current and students MUST carry a personal asthma inhaler and spacer to support their condition. The Asthma Foundation and CEWA encourages inhaler use ONLY through a spacer as this is the most effective way to deliver the medication to the lungs. If your child is an asthmatic please ensure these items are supplied in your child's school bag.
