WP Weekly 3/23/26
Version 1

Dear WP Families,
While spring has officially arrived, the temperatures and weather havenβt quite caught up yet; however, we know those warmer, sunnier days and end-of-the-year events and celebrations are just around the corner! I know it's crazy, but there are less than 60 school days left in the school year! π (HOW!?).
A few important things to note this week:
- March 23: Report Cards Available on Parent Portal
- March 26: PTA Candy Pickup - 5:00-7:00pm
Thank you for your continued support β we look forward to another great week of learning together!
Best,
Jaimie Knight

World Down Syndrome Day! πππ
World Down Syndrome Day is observed each year on March 21 to raise awareness and promote inclusion for people with Down Syndrome. The date (3/21) symbolizes the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which is the genetic cause of the condition.
On Friday, our WP students and staff joyfully celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by wearing bright, mismatched socks as a symbol of individuality and inclusion. Classrooms were filled with laughter, colorful patterns, and meaningful conversations about acceptance, kindness, and understanding. Students learned that our differences are what make us unique and special, and by embracing one another, we create a stronger, more compassionate community!
Spirit Week Highlights!
Safety Drill Notification π¨
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The safety of our students and staff is very important to us. One of the ways we stay safe is by practicing safety drills. By doing so, everyone becomes familiar with drill protocols and learns exactly what to do and how to stay safe if there is an emergency situation at school. To support our students and staff, we will be practicing safety drill(s) within the next week. The exact time and date of drills are not provided for security reasons. Please discuss the importance of emergency drills with your child.
Before we practice a drill, we teach students and staff what they need to do. We discuss how the drill will be announced, and we always inform students and staff that it is a drill. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, staff and our school.
If you have any questions about the drills or other safety concerns, please contact our Main Office.

Birthday/Classroom Celebration Treat Reminder
Dear Families,
We love celebrating student birthdays and special occasions! This is a kind reminder that any birthday or celebration treats brought to school must be store-bought and packaged with ingredient labels clearly visible.
Unfortunately, we are unable to distribute homemade treats. Thank you so much for your understanding and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
