Student Shout-Outs!
Good luck to our RWHS Make48 team heading to Make48 Season 9 Nationals this weekend! These young innovators soared through the Winona competition with their project SPILL BLOCK, a modular, recycled-rubber safety mat designed to prevent slip-and-fall accidents in workplaces and schools. Team members Tristan, Bentley, Gavin, and Piper (filling in for Seth) are ready to bring their A-game to Nationals! Let’s go, Wingers!
Lloyd, Derrick, Brandon, and Bear: You are amazing drummers and singers! I hope you are proud of yourselves as much as I am proud of you honoring our culture! Pidamayaye! -Holly
Shout out to Dustin and company! Cheers to a great conversation about top 5 favorite games and consoles! -Mr. Hovelson
Mrs. Kiefer's 7th Period Honors Language Arts: Shout out to Mrs. Kiefer's Honors Language Arts 7th period this week. Gotta say it's been most triumphant working with and witnessing these students' high school careers over the years! This week they wrote a complex in class essay and were all excellent for Mrs. Kiefer's sub! Their collective discipline during lock in moments have become common practice for everyone in 7th Period Honors Language Arts and a testament to the character they demonstrate daily! Thank you all for having each others backs and being such kind individuals! -Mr. Hovelson
Mr. Perau's 1st period: There have been a handful of top tier wordle performances at RWHS (shout out to 2022 aquaculture 36 wordles in a row!) However! Step aside 2022 world class because 2025 LEGENDS were forged this day in an absolute cinema performance from Peraus 1st period! Not only are these students top tier musicians but also decimated Dordle, Wordle/(Wordle colorblind/hard mode), and STRANDS for 47 minutes straight with 0 losses. On Wordle colorblind/hard mode alone, they had 20 straight! You need a word? =These ladies got you covered in seconds flat! SNAPS, CLAPS, and STOMPS all around! -Mr. Hovelson
Tate Hartman, Aaron Rodgers, and Isiah Whitman: These guys are great for a laugh and excellent students of basketball! Always awesome talk'n with Mr. Korby, Tate Hartman, Aaron Rodgers, and Isiah Whitman about potential Timberwolves trades, and today as well! One day I think we'll see these guys on ESPN giving us the lowdown of the sports world! -Mr. Hovelson
Mr. Bakers Volleyball class (2nd or 3rd period?): I apologize for not knowing which period Mr. Baker! But shout out to Mr. Baker and his volleyball class! Thank you for including me with some most excellent students and staff! That was totally fun and a great time today! -Mr. Hovelson
Thank you to ALL students for being so supportive of our Veterans Day program last week! The amount of amazing help we had on Thursday and Friday, as well as the respectful behavior during the program makes me really proud. We heard many comments about how great YOU were and how awesome it always is to have you be a part of this special community event. Way to go Wingers! - Bray
Concert Band, Ovation and Dakota Circle Singers: The music is my favorite part of the Veterans Day event each year. It adds so much for everyone attending, so THANK YOU for sharing not only your talents but your passion for music! -Bray
