Emily Suter

This week we'd like to spotlight our band and choir teacher, Ms. Emily Suter. She took our SMS marching band to Wenatchee last Saturday to participate in the Jr. Apple Blossom Parade. Our drum major, Serenity Vilensky, led our band in performing 'Single Ladies' by Beyonce. They did a fantastic job!

Ms. Suter teaches Beginning and Advanced Band and Choir, Music Appreciation, Ukulele, and Hollywood books. She is an SEA mentor, a certified BEST mentor, and has been on our Building Leadership Team for 2 and a half years.

Ms. Suter also regularly helps out with high school band and has been involved in most of their activities this year; pep band for sports games, the high school musical, and marching band. She is hard working, dedicated, and proud of her students and the music they create!

On the personal side, Emily has a small crochet business! She creates stuffed animals and items by request and sells at markets. Emily is also an active member in Seattle's Formation Wind Band; comprised of all female identifying musicians, they play high caliber level concert band music. She is an avid reader, enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

We appreciate you Ms. Suter and what you do for our students and community!!!
