Principal's Notes
Dear Welty Family,
April has arrived, and that means itβs time for an important questβ¦ the mighty AASA testing! π°π Our brave young ogres have been training all year, building their reading, writing, and math powers, and now itβs time to show what they know! βοΈβ¨ The AASA tests will take place over several days, and students will work on different sections like Reading π, Writing βοΈ, and Math β. We encourage them to take their time, read carefully, and try their very best on every questionβno rushing through the swamp!
To help your ogre succeed, please make sure they get plenty of rest each night π΄, eat a healthy breakfast each morning π₯π, and arrive at school on time every day β°. Being late can make it harder for them to start their quest calmly. Encourage them to stay positive, believe in themselves, and rememberβitβs okay if something feels tricky, just keep trying! πͺπ
We know this season can bring a bit of βspring feverβ πΈπ, but letβs channel that extra energy into focus, determination, and confidence. With your support, our ogres will conquer this challenge and make us all proud! ππ
Thank you for being such wonderful partners on this learning adventure π§‘.

(and proud leader of this amazing swamp!)π

Quick Tips for AASA Testing πβ¨
Testing is just around the corner! While state testing is important, thereβs no need to worryβsmall steps at home can make a big difference in helping your child feel calm, confident, and ready to succeed.
Here are some easy ways to support your child:
β Get Plenty of Sleep π΄ β Aim for 9β11 hours of rest each night. A well-rested brain helps with focus, memory, and problem-solving.
β Eat a Healthy Breakfast ππ₯ β Choose foods with protein (eggs, yogurt, peanut butter) and whole grains (toast, oatmeal) to give your child steady energy.
β Encourage a Positive Mindset π¬ β Remind your child, βJust try your bestβyouβve got this!β Confidence can make a big difference.
β Arrive on Time β° β A relaxed, on-time morning helps your child start the day feeling calm and prepared.
β Keep Skills Fresh πβ β Light practice like reading together, reviewing math facts, or playing learning games can boost confidence without pressure.
β Practice Calm Breathing π¬οΈ β If your child feels nervous, encourage slow, deep breaths to help them relax and stay focused.
A little support at home goes a long way. With encouragement and preparation, your child will be ready to shine! ππ
