Principal's Message
Dear OMS Families,
Every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas. Our 2024 School Report Card was emailed home to parents/guardians today. If we do not have a guardian email on file, a hard copy was provided to your student to bring home to you and a hard copy was also mailed via USPS.
If you need to update your email address, you can do so by updating your emergency contact information in PowerSchool or by calling the main office (Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm) and we can help you update your email.
Sincerely,
Katrina Crowley

Drop Off Reminders
As a reminder, please follow our drop-off procedures during morning arrival. More information and a visual explaining the procedures can be found on the OMS Website.
The student drop-off/pick-up area inside the lot is in front of the building, along the curb with the yellow stripes. Vehicles on the school-side of Cushing Street can also drop off at the curb on that side of Cushing Street. There is no drop off on the opposite side of Cushing St. as this causes traffic flow issues.
For morning drop-off, we ask that you pull your car all the way to the second crosswalk. The morning entrance for students is at the second crosswalk. As you enter this area, please drive carefully and be patient. There are OMS staff members in the parking lot to help direct the traffic in the morning.
Remember that students are able to be dropped off and enter the building as early as 7:00am. From 7:00 to 7:15am there is very little drop-off traffic, and we strongly encourage families to drop off at this time if possible.
There is no student drop-off or pick-up in the upper lot that we share with Stoughton High School. That lot is for SHS student and OMS staff parking only.
NJHS Trip to the Wilkins Elementary School
National Junior Honor Society members visited the third grade students at the Wilkins Elementary School on Thursday, 2/13. They worked with their partners to create pictures on graph paper that they then used to calculate perimeter and area. The math lesson continued with a special area game with dice and graph paper. Students had to practice their multiplication facts to see whose shape had more area. New friendships were formed and the two groups will meet again in the spring for another lesson and a field day!
OMS Family Math Night
The Math Department is hosting a math night for OMS families! There will be challenges, games, riddles, and prizes. A parent or guardian must be in attendance with their child since this is a math night.
Student Council's Black History Month Door Decorating Contest
Earlier this month, the Student Council organized a school-wide door decorating contest to celebrate Black History Month and honor the individuals, groups, and organizations who have helped pave the way for equality and diversity in America. Each Knight Time Advisory was assigned an individual or group. They learned more about their assigned person/group and incorporated what they learned on their door. Check out the winning doors below! You can see more pictures of the doors on the SPS Facebook page.

Classroom Spotlight: Ms. Sulecki's Exploring Music Class

Reminder: Fasting During Ramadan
Reminder that if any students will be fasting as a part of their observance of Ramadan, please let them know that they can go to the Guidance Suite or the Learning Commons during lunch if it is difficult for them to be around other students eating. Parents/guardians can reach out to your child's school counselor if you have any questions.
