Moreno Montessori Mission Statement
Moreno Montessori School's mission is to foster a learning environment for the whole child to thrive and each their full potential by cultivating their concentration, independence and community in a carefully prepared environment that offers beauty, order, and accessibility.
3rd week in!
Dear Montessori Families,
As we begin our third week of school, our students have been settling into their routines and rituals beautifully. Instruction in Amplify Reading and Bluebonnet Math has officially begun in our Kindergarten through 4th grade classrooms, and we are excited to see students actively engaged in their learning.
It has been impressive to witness how quickly our students are demonstrating independence, global citizenship, and confidence as they find their voice within our Montessori community. During the Montessori work cycle, students are becoming familiar with classroom expectations while exploring all five curriculum areas through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
We remain committed to supporting both the academic and social growth of every child. To help all students reach their goals, we have established several key priorities this year:
- Strong Tier 1 instruction for all students
- Ongoing monitoring of student data, progress, and support needs
- Leadership commitment to regular classroom observations and meaningful feedback for teachers
These priorities will help ensure that every student receives a high-quality educational experience and the support needed to thrive.
Thank you once again for entrusting us with your most precious gifts, your children. We value our partnership with families and appreciate your continued support as we work together to help our students succeed.

Attendance reminders!
Report absences to : moreno_notes@episd.org
As the new school year approaches, El Paso ISD is reminding families about an important attendance requirement that will be in effect beginning with the 2026-27 school year.
Students must attend at least 90% of the school days or class periods in order to receive course credit or a final grade, as required by Texas law.
For elementary students, missing more than 17 days during a typical school year may affect whether they automatically can earn credit or a final grade. In middle and high school, attendance is tracked by individual class periods each semester, so repeatedly missing the same class can become an issue even if a student attends school the rest of the day.
In middle school, missing a class more than 8 times in the fall semester or more than 9 times in spring semester will result in loss of credit. In high school as students are on an A/B schedule, missing a class more than 4 times in a semester will result in loss of credit.

i-Ready Inform Assessment for Kinders-4th grade
This week, students in Kindergarten through 4th grade will take the Beginning-of-Year i-Ready Inform Assessment for Reading and Math. The assessment helps campus and teachers learn what students already know and what skills they may need more support with. By looking at students’ results, classroom work, and teacher observations, we can better understand each child's strengths and learning needs.
This information helps campus and teachers plan lessons, provide the right level of support, and ensure every student has the opportunity to grow and succeed throughout the school year.
