Hendrickson High School
Message from Principal Grebb:
We have officially entered testing season at Hendrickson High School. We are less than two weeks away from the School Day SAT. If you are in 11th grade, please see the information below. Some students will begin taking the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) on Tuesday. Give these tests your best effort, and you won’t be disappointed with the results.
We are also three weeks away from the end of the third nine weeks, so please make sure your grades are in order so you can build momentum for the final nine weeks. The Boys and Girls Basketball playoffs are underway, good luck to both teams! Go Hawks!

School Day SAT (all 11th Graders) March 4th
2 Weeks Until the School Day SAT
On March 4, 2026, all juniors at Hendrickson High School will take the school-day SAT. This assessment is an important milestone for our students and can have a direct impact on their plans after high school.
The SAT helps colleges measure a student’s readiness for college-level coursework in reading, writing, and math, and the results can open important doors for our students:
College Readiness:
Students who meet the college-ready benchmarks (480 in Reading and 530 in Math) will be able to avoid College Prep/TSI intervention courses during their senior year and move directly into advanced or elective coursework.
Scholarship Opportunities:
Many colleges and universities use SAT scores when awarding merit-based scholarships, which can significantly reduce the cost of college.
College Admissions:
While many schools are test-optional, strong SAT scores can still strengthen a student’s application and provide more options after graduation.
Future Planning:
Scores help students, families, and counselors make informed decisions about college, career pathways, and senior-year course selections.
Please remember that the SAT is only one measure of a student’s success. Daily effort in class, grades, attendance, and involvement in activities all continue to play a major role in preparing students for life after high school.
We encourage all juniors to:
Get a good night’s sleep before test day
Arrive on time
Bring their fully charged Chromebook
Do their best
This is a great opportunity for students to keep doors open for their future, and we are proud of the hard work they have put in to reach this point.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support of Hendrickson students.

Hawk Speech and Debate Soars at Harvard!
The Hawks earned an outstanding finish at the invitation-only Harvard National Speech & Debate Tournament. Our World Schools Team, Natalie, Peyton, Ike, Dallin, and Lucas, made school history by advancing to the semifinals for the first time and placing 3rd overall.
Natalie was also named 2nd Speaker in the World Schools division, recognizing her as one of the top individual competitors at this elite national tournament.
These students balanced intense preparation with their academic commitments and represented our school with professionalism, confidence, and grit. Special thanks to Vada Janak for her exceptional leadership and support in making this milestone possible.

FAFSA is Open (Class of 2026)
Dear Senior Parents and Guardians, The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is officially open for the Class of 2026! Completing the FAFSA is the most important step in securing financial aid for college, trade school, or career training programs. This application determines eligibility for: Federal grants (money you don’t repay) Work-study opportunities Low-interest federal student loans Many state and college-specific scholarships How the FAFSA Works This Year: The student begins the FAFSA with their own username and password. The student will then invite one parent/guardian (called a “contributor”) to log in with their own username and password. That parent completes their section, and then the FAFSA is submitted. Important: Only one parent needs to fill out the FAFSA. Which parent is used depends on the family situation: Married parents (to each other): Both parents’ information is included, but only one parent logs in as the contributor. Divorced/separated parents: Use the parent the student lived with most in the past 12 months (or who provided more financial support). If that parent is remarried, the stepparent’s info must be included too. Single, never married parent: Only that parent’s info is needed. Why act quickly? Some financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Many colleges require the FAFSA on file before awarding scholarships. Even if you don’t think you qualify, it’s still worth completing. You’ll need your 2024 tax information to complete the form.
