You're invited! Join us this Sunday, December 14th as we learn more about Hanukkah and disabilities.

Marie Reed is a passionate Early Childhood educator and linguist. Her hobbies all seem to start with the letter B. She loves bicycles, braille, bees and buttercream frosting. She's a mom of three, and this is her 4th year guiding lessons about Jewish holidays and values at UUFH. Dearly loved, Marie Reed's lessons are enjoyed by UUs of all ages. Marie is legally blind and will be teaching the kids not only about Hanukkah but also about how to interact with blind folks, seeing eye dogs, and people with seeing differences in general.

Helen Bishop - is a super star in the UU world! Recipient of the Angus McLean Award for Religious Education and director of a leadership school for UU boards for many years, Dr. Bishops has 4 degrees in various fields including Medieval and Renaissance Music and Organizational Leadership. This Sunday, Dr. Helen will be guiding our UU kids in a lesson about interacting with folks with disabilities. Kids are invited to ask questions, touch her wheelchair, and learn about disabilities.

Letter from Children's Choir Director: Melissa Meghdadi

Dear Parents,

Working with your children has been a true privilege, and I’m delighted for you to hear the music they’ve been preparing. Their dedication, creativity, and spirit have made this a meaningful experience for all of us.

To support their continued growth, I am providing audio recordings for at-home practice. These recordings will help reinforce what we’ve been working on in rehearsal and will give them an opportunity to share their progress with you.

The children will sing during the worship service on Sunday, December 21st between 10:30 and 11:30. Kids are encouraged to wear red and green. Parents, friends, and family are all invited to attend. The worship service will also include Christmas music performed by teens in our youth program. It's sure to be a meaningful and memorable service!

Respectfully,

Melissa Meghdadi

General Information about the UUFH Donation Drives

UUFH is partnering with Interfaith Assistance Ministries (IAM), to get food, clothing, blankets, and personal hygiene items to those who need them.

If you are in a position to give, you are strongly encouraged to bring your food, warm clothing, and hygiene donations to UUFH or take them to IAM directly and get a receipt for the UUFH office. Keeping track of receipts is helpful for writing grants and internal bookkeeping.

Donors have options. You can drop off donations at the UU office across the street from the sanctuary Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 10-2PM or you can drop off the donations into the donation wagon in the foyer on Sunday mornings immediately before or immediately after the service.
