Week of May 11th to May 15th Week of May 11th to May 15th

The final countdown is officially on. With just 14 school days left, the hallways are buzzing with a mix of end-of-year energy and focused determination. It’s been a massive week for our students, covering everything from state exams to self-care.

Our students showed serious grit this week as they powered through the Science State Testing. We know these assessments can be a lot to handle, and we’re proud of the focus they brought even at the end of the year.

This week also marked Mental Health Awareness Week, a timely reminder to check in on one another. We wrapped things up with a Lunchtime Wellness Fair, where students explored stress-relief stations and mindfulness tips. They also got to meet with a bunch of local organizations that are available to help and even pick up a free book at the HMB Library booth. A huge thank you goes to our organizers, Ms. Jazmin and Mr. Johnny, along with their student volunteers. You provided a much-needed space for everyone to breathe before the final push toward summer.

As we head into the home stretch, make sure your student is checking for any missing assignments and looking for library books to return. Let’s make these last two weeks count!

Online Book Fair Online Book Fair

Last Day is Today!

We’re excited to invite you to shop our online Follett Book eFair from May 4-15 to May 15, 2026! This is a fun and easy way to purchase books your kids want to read while helping us grow our school and classroom libraries at Cunha Intermediate School.

Access to books at home makes a big difference for kids by improving reading skills, fostering a love of learning, and boosting confidence and overall well-being. By supporting our book fundraiser, you’ll discover great books your kids will love and support our school at the same time!

How it works:

· Shop Online: Browse a wide selection of affordable titles, from new releases to popular fiction and nonfiction. Don’t miss the Mega Sale section!

· Give Back: For every dollar spent, our school gets 20% back in credits to purchase books and resources from Follett Titlewave® for our school and classroom libraries.

· Wish Lists: Students can create personalized Wish Lists to share with family, friends, and everyone you know. These are perfect for birthdays, graduations, or just because!

· Free Shipping: All orders ship to our school for free after the online book fair ends. We’ll send them home with your child or you can pick them up at your convenience.

To purchase books or see what titles are available, visit book-efairs.follettcontent.com and enter our Book eFair Code: LDXLR

Books will be delivered in your student’s Language Arts class at the end of the online fair.

All sales benefit our school, so please help us spread the word! If you or a local business would like to donate to help students who might not otherwise be able to afford new books, please contact me at groverd@cabrillo.ca.us.

We’re very excited about this opportunity. Thank you for supporting our students and helping us build a strong reading culture at Manuel F. Cunha Intermediate School.
