How do I know I am Qualified??

Advancement to Regionals is based on the Ranking List. All skiers ranked Level 6 in any event or overall as of February 15, 2024 qualify for Regionals.
At the Cut Off Date the Ranking List Average of the last ranked skier in each division in slalom, tricks, jump and overall will be established as the Cut Off Average (COA) for that division.

Last Chance Qualification: After the Cut Off Date any skiers not qualified via the Ranking List may still qualify for Regionals through 3 last chance qualifying methods (LCQs):
1. Increases your average equal to or above the COA any time after the Cut Off Date.
2. Record a score equal to or above the COA at any tournament class (C) or above after the Cut Off Date.
3. Place in the top 3 at your State Tournament.

How do I start to become an official?

If you don't know where to start, talk to the tournament director or any of the officials and let them know that you want to help! They can help you to meet the officials at the tournament or sign you up to dock start! It is a super important job at a tournament, you get to meet everyone and you understand more of how things are run!

Recap of Junior Camp from Shane Bucher

The Midwest Elite Team participated in the camp at Pickos Ski School from June 10-14th. We had great weather and plenty of fun. Besides a full day of skiing, the team enjoyed building friendships through spending time at the beach, going go-carting, and playing games at the pizza/ice social sponsored by Pickos Ski School. The final-year team members (Eva Henderson, Ally Custer, Sammie Hoops, Ali Weber, and Cole Welfringer) gave outstanding mentorship to the young members. Throughout the week, the team members benefited from instruction by the World-Renowned Skiers Cory and Adam Pickos. The camps success was due to the great kids and their parents.

How to Make the Junior Elite Team

Next years camp will be over the week of June 9-13th. We will be going back to Pickos Ski School for another year. The team will be selected at the Midwest Regionals and announced at the banquet. Applications (available on site) must be submitted to the Junior Development Tent at Regionals by noon on Saturday to be eligible. The elite team of twenty skiers is selected from the division of Girls/Boys 3 through Girls/Boys 5. It is based on a performance ratio from a yearly ranking and Midwest Regional performance. Future team members will complete an application form at the regional tournament. Selected team members must sell raffle tickets and provide a basket for the regional auction, which covers a portion of the cost camp. If you have any questions about the Elite Team, don't hesitate to contact Shane Bucher.
