Dear Cowboy Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! Whether you’re a returning member of our Cowboy community or joining us for the first time, we’re excited to have you as part of the Livermore High School family. We hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and meaningful time with family and friends.
Over the summer, our staff and administration have been working hard to prepare for an exciting and successful year ahead. As always, we’re committed to providing a positive and enriching environment where all students can learn, grow, and thrive. Your partnership plays a crucial role in this effort, and we look forward to working together.
To set students up for success, we ask for your support in the following areas:
-
Be present and engaged: Daily, on-time attendance is one of the most effective ways your student can stay connected and engaged in learning. Every day truly matters.
-
Stay academically focused: Help your student stay on top of their assignments, develop consistent study habits, and dedicate time to reading. These habits build a strong foundation for long-term academic achievement.
-
Foster responsibility: Encourage your student to manage their time, materials, and commitments. Remind them that asking for help is a sign of strength and maturity.
-
Maintain open communication: Check in regularly about school—what they’re enjoying, what’s challenging, and where they might need support. We’re here to help if questions or concerns arise.
-
Encourage future planning: Talk with your student about their interests and long-term goals. Whether they’re considering college, a career path, or something else, now is a great time to start planning. You can use our LHS Four-Year Plan as a helpful guide in these conversations.
In addition to these habits, we encourage you to review the Cowboy HEROES Behavior Matrix with your student. This document outlines our school-wide expectations and helps foster a safe, respectful, and responsible learning environment.
We also ask for your support in reducing classroom distractions caused by cell phones. Students are welcome to use their phones before and after school, during lunch, passing periods, or with teacher permission. However, phones should not be used during class time unless they are part of the instructional plan.
Another important area of focus this year is our continued stand against hate speech. At Livermore High, we believe in the power of empathy, respect, and open-mindedness. Please help us reinforce with students the importance of using language that promotes kindness, inclusivity, and understanding.
We’ll keep you informed throughout the year with phone calls, emails, and newsletters. I also invite you to get involved in our school community by participating in the School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), PTSA, or attending campus events. Your involvement is a valuable part of what makes our school strong.
