A Note from the Principal
Day 10/180 (170 to go!)
During Friday’s JES Assembly, Mrs. Rajan revealed that the Jacobs School One Word for the year is CURIOUS. During a time when finding the answer to just about anything is so readily available, we want our students to remain curious—to ask questions, wonder why, explore new ideas, and not always be satisfied with simply knowing the answer. In addition, the word curiosity can be found in multiple places throughout the district’s new Strategic Plan, including within our new Core Values and Vision. The Strategic Plan will be available on our website in the coming weeks.
This week, we welcomed our PreK students and officially completed our boarding process as the Pirate Ship set sail with everyone finally on board! With the school year now fully underway, we look forward to welcoming our families into the building next week for two nights of Open Houses. Our JMS families will join us on Tuesday evening for a more structured night that begins promptly at 5:30 PM in the Jacobs Cafeteria before families follow their child’s schedule and visit each of their classes. On Wednesday evening, our JES students get to take the lead with a more traditional Open House, as they act as hosts and proudly show their families around their school and classrooms. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and I hope to see everyone there!

Lunch & Recess Groups Forming Now
Look for Permission Slips
Throughout the year, the counseling staff forms various social-emotional learning groups for our K-5 students. These groups talk about subjects such as self-esteem, peer relationships, executive functioning, and focus & attention. Permission slips will be going out this week with more details about what the groups may offer, so please keep an eye out for it in your student's folder. Please consider permitting your student to participate, even if they do not directly require the group, because often times students will benefit from the experience of being a peer model, or having such a student included. On a similar note, returning the permission slip is not necessarily a guarantee that your student will be included in a group, but it does open the opportunity. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kacee Evitts, School Adjustment Counselor, at 781-925-4400 x1137 or via email at kevitts@hullpublicschools.us.

Our Five-Year Strategic Plan
Hull Public Schools recently completed its Five-Year Strategic Plan (2026–2031), developed through an inclusive, community-driven process in partnership with the Teaching & Learning Alliance (TLA). This plan was guided by an 18-member committee of staff, students, parents and community members who followed a thoughtful, inclusive, and community-driven process to establish a clear direction for the future of our school district.
- Our Mission: Anchored in Hull’s proud history and committed to its future, we provide safe, equitable, and challenging opportunities that inspire all students to become responsible, resilient, and engaged citizens.
- Our Vision: Honoring Community. Promoting Confidence. Sparking Curiosity.
- Our Core Values: Respect, Inclusion, Endurance, Safety, Curiosity, and Belonging
- Our Four Cardinal Points (Strategic Priorities):
- Teaching and Learning: Aligning curriculum, assessments, and instruction across all grade levels.
- Engagement and Partnerships: Fostering strong relationships among schools, families, and the community.
- Community and Culture: Sustaining a thriving educational environment that promotes unique programming and attracts high-quality staff.
- Budget, Finance, Technology, and Facilities: Providing safe, efficient, and future-focused learning environments through responsible fiscal stewardship.
Next Steps: The district is transitioning from planning to implementation, which will involve creating specific action steps, measuring progress, and developing visual dashboards to keep the community informed.
