Morning Arrival Reminders
Many students are arriving to school in the morning with a full breakfast in hand. While we appreciate you making sure your child eats a healthy breakfast to get them started for the day, it is causing some mishaps on the way to class.
Our doors open at 7:10 so that students who need to eat breakfast can do so in the cafeteria before heading to class. Students can receive a breakfast from the cafeteria or they can bring one from home. If you are sending your kids to school with a breakfast, please make sure it is packed similar to how you would pack lunch. Food needs to be sealed in containers or bags and packed in a lunch box. Students need to be able to carry it themselves without it spilling. We have had lots of spills and trails of food down the hallways. This causes slipping hazards, uncleanliness of our building and attracts bugs.

As always, if you have concerns or questions about your child's progress, you may reach out to the teacher or administration for a conference at any point during the school year.
FESTA offers NARCAN Training at WISD:
The FESTA program will offer 2 NARCAN training sessions this semester at the WISD Board Room. One is for Teens and the other is for Adults. All attendees will receive a free Narcan Kit. Narcan, the brand name for the drug naloxone, is used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It is a life-saving emergency medication that can rapidly restore normal breathing and consciousness in someone who has overdosed on opioids like heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, and morphine. In the Teen session (ages 14+), a part of the training will be that students cannot self-carry Narcan in the school buildings as it is a medication, but Narcan is available in the Nurse's office.
10/15/25 Adult Narcan Training Sign-up 5:00-6:30pm
10/22/25 Teen (14+) Narcan Training Sign-up 4:00-5:30pm
