From leadership lessons to favorite moments, Ahmad shares what made his HF experience unforgettable. Congrats to Our VAST Graduates!
Tuesday we hosted our Vocational Achievement Successful Transition (VAST) Program Graduation, celebrating our newest Viking alumni. Congrats to Jasmin Harris, Aryanna Anderson and Marco Agting!

Congrats are in order to Junior Julian Grisius, who scored a perfect 36 on the ACT last month!
"We are thrilled to recognize one of our students for achieving a perfect composite score of 36 on the ACT—an extraordinary accomplishment earned by fewer than one in every 300 test-takers nationwide," says Assessments Coordinator Mr. Kush.
Girls' Track & Field Are State Champs!
The Homewood-Flossmoor High School Girls’ Track and Field Team captured the IHSA Class 3A State Championship on Saturday, May 24, 2025—marking the program’s first state title since 2019 and reaffirming its place as a powerhouse in Illinois high school athletics.
With a display of speed, strength, and determination, the team delivered an unforgettable performance at Eastern Illinois University, highlighted by a historic relay win and multiple All-State honors.
The 4x100m Relay team shattered the IHSA All-Time State Record with a blazing time of 45.55 seconds. The record-breaking relay featured stellar performances from London Willingham, Mariyah Robinson, London Jarrett, and Aniya Mullins.
Standout sprinter Mariyah Robinson emerged as a double state champion, winning individual titles in both the 200m and 400m races. Her speed and competitive edge helped power the team to the top of the podium.

We also recognized this year's retirees (not all pictured here) and thanked them for their work as they head into their next chapters. Once a Viking, Always a Viking!
2025-26 Cafeteria Price Adjustments
As we prepare for the 2025–2026 school year, we want to inform you of upcoming adjustments to select cafeteria menu prices.
Over the past several years, the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Board of Education has made a deliberate effort to minimize the financial impact of food cost increases on students and families. Specifically:
- The District fully absorbed meal price increases during the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 school years, effectively freezing meal costs for students and families.
- In the 2024–2025 school year, the District shared the impact by covering 50% of the increased food service costs.
- For the 2025–2026 school year, the District will implement the full price adjustment to reflect actual cost increases associated with food, labor, and service operations.
Modest price adjustments—averaging approximately 6%—are necessary to maintain the quality and service of our cafeteria offerings in response to rising costs for ingredients, packaging, and distribution. Learn more here.

No previous experience needed. There will be Open Field days starting from Monday, June 23rd to Wednesday, July 16th from 4pm to 6pm every Monday and Wednesday on the North Field located behind the North building.
Flag Football Summer Camp
The Flag Football summer camp is a great way to learn about the sport of flag football in a fun and supportive environment. We will teach the basic fundamentals of flag football and help athletes identify what positions they may want to try out for in the fall.
Athletes should bring water and molded or plastic cleats (no metal cleats) as this will help with traction on the north turf. Athletic shoes can be worn if the athlete does not have cleats. All campers should bring athletic shoes every day in case bad weather forces us into the fieldhouse.
Director: Walter Collins, wcollins@hf233.org
Location: North Field
Grades 9-12
Dates: July 21-31, M-Th, 10am-12pm
Fee: $100

Claim Your Light Pole Banner
If you've been around campus lately, you may have noticed we've updated our light pole banners with some fresh images. The previous ones have been removed and will be available for pickup (if you'd like) for any alum who were featured on a banner or had a student who was.
Please see this folder and email hfinfo@hf233.org with the subject line "Banner Pickup" and a brief description of which banner is yours. We'll confirm a time you can pick up. Note: These banners (like the one pictured here) have been up for about 5 years, so all are featuring students that likely graduated prior to 2020.
