On Thursday, May 23rd, at 5:30 p.m, 6th-grade teachers will be welcoming incoming 6th-grade families to provide an informational session about Merrimack Valley Middle School in preparation for the 2024-2025 school year. Teachers will introduce themselves, discuss what courses they teach, and provide a basic overview of MVMS. Parents and students will also have an opportunity to ask questions of the 6th-grade teachers and tour the building. Students are welcome to attend with their parents if they would like.

A more detailed agenda for the evening is forthcoming.

Student Move Up Day - June 13 Student Move Up Day - June 13

Move-Up-Day for incoming 6th-graders will be on June 13. Students will have the chance to travel from their current elementary school to the middle school. This is a great opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the building, meet students from other schools, and get to know the 6th-grade staff. Students will also have the chance to eat lunch as well as participate in a variety of fun activities.

We are happy to offer a variety of summer enrichment opportunities for our incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. These programs will run on two sessions. The first session is open to all MVMS students while the Incoming 6th-Grade Adventure Course is only for incoming 6th-graders.
  • Main Session - July 8-12
  • Incoming 6th Grade Adventure Course - August 5-9 (incoming 6th graders only) *Limited spaces (see below video for some pictures from last year's program)

This is a great opportunity for our incoming 6th-graders to get to know the layout of the school and meet some new classmates from other towns. These programs are geared toward creating fun, engaging, and social activities for students. While there are ties to the curriculum, a major goal of this program is to build positive connections with students.

The schedule and sign-up form for these events are linked below. Students must sign up by May 10 in order to participate in Summer Enrichment. We need to have definitive numbers to determine whether or not a specific program is able to run. Once sign-ups are complete, we will post a finalized schedule. Students may sign up for one or both sessions.

These programs will be of no cost to our families; however, families will need to provide their own transportation to and from school.
