Rodeo Palms Jr. High eNews

We hope our Razorback families had an amazing holiday break filled with family time and memorable moments.

We will welcome all students back on Thursday, January 4th. The building doors open at 8:05 AM and students need to be in 1st period by 8:40 AM.

All students completed semester exams the week of December 11th. Semester exams are 1/7 of students final semester grades.

Any student who was absent will have until January 12th to make up their exams.

All students completed their iReady Diagnostic for reading on Thursday, December 14th. The iReady Diagnostic is a test designed to help teachers support each student and create a path of personalized instruction for every learner. The adaptive test adjusts its questions to suit each student's needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. Students completed the math diagnostic in August and the program has been used in math classes to support instruction and in WIN Time to close learning gaps and provide students additional practice on difficult concepts.

We are excited to bring the reading component to students and teachers as we strive to ensure all Rodeo Palms students are on grade level in math and reading.

Any student who missed the iReady Diagnostic will be pulled by campus administration to complete the diagnostic.

The 6th grade class will be taking a field trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science on Thursday, January 25th.

A letter will be going home with students on Monday, January 8th with specific details about the trip and how to purchase your student's ticket.

Our Razorback students and staff are doing great things in and outside the classroom.

RPJH 7th Grader, Anaiah Hodges, was a contest on the Food Networks' Kid's Baking Championship. The first episode aired on January 1st. Tune in next Monday at 7PM on the Food Network to see how far Anaiah will go on the show.

The campus has been piloting a 2 lane car rider line to help move the line faster. Thank you for your patience as we have implemented this process.
