Reading Tip for Home
Winter evenings are the perfect time to make learning cozy and enjoyable at home. Encourage your child to read aloud to you each night for at least 10–15 minutes. Let them choose books that spark their curiosity—stories about animals, snow, or winter adventures work wonderfully! Reading aloud helps children build fluency, strengthen vocabulary, and develop expression. If they come across a tricky word, pause to sound it out together or talk about what it might mean based on the story. After reading, ask questions like “What was your favorite part?” or “Why did the character do that?” This builds comprehension and conversation skills. Set up a special reading spot with a blanket, soft light, and maybe a cup of cocoa to make it feel special. If your child prefers writing practice, they can draw or write a few sentences about what they read.

Banner Sales Supporting MRI Playground
Thank you to all families & local businesses who purchased banners to be displayed on our playground fence. We are so appreciative of your support of our playground fundraising efforts! We look forward to working towards making improvements to our play area!
Volunteer
Come volunteer at MRI! Level 1 volunteers are those individuals who have a completed and approved background check. All chaperones for field trips must be a Level 1.
It is recommended that you consider getting your Level 1 if you plan on volunteering at school in any way. This way it's done and you should be good to go!
Want to volunteer as a mystery reader or help with a class lesson/activity? Communicate with your child's teacher to schedule a time to be here!
Being Present Matters!
Did you send a note yet?
Don't forget to submit your child's absence note.
