Bogota Middle School Weekly Update
October 9, 2026
ESSENTIALS
We hope everyone had a great week!
We had a wonderful Week of Respect here at Bogota Middle School. While the official Week of Respect has come to an end, our goal is for our students to continue practicing kindness, respect, and compassion throughout the entire school year and carry those values with them into their adult lives.
Quiet Study is available to all of our students Monday through Thursday from 2:45–3:45 PM. We strongly encourage students to take advantage of this time to complete homework, work on projects, study, or catch up on assignments in a quiet and supportive environment. It is a great opportunity for students to get a head start on their work and stay organized throughout the school year.
We have an exciting few weeks ahead at BMS! Please take note of the following upcoming events:
October 16 – Author Visit
We are very excited to welcome a professional author to Bogota Middle School on October 16. Our students and staff are looking forward to this special visit and the opportunity to learn more about the writing process.
October 15 – Jr. YAC Ice Cream Sundae Sale
Our Jr. YAC will be hosting an Ice Cream Sundae Sale after school on October 17. We encourage our students to support this great student organization!
October 20, 21 & 22 – Parent Conferences
Parent conferences will take place on October 20, 21, and 23. If a teacher does not reach out to you to schedule a conference, a conference is not needed at this time. We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to regularly check their child’s grades in Realtime throughout the school year. Staying informed about your child’s progress is an important part of their success. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teachers at any time if you have questions or would like an update. October 20, 21, and 22 will be one session days for students with dismissal at 12:40pm.
BMS Pink Out Walkathon
Our annual BMS Pink Out Walkathon will also take place during the week of parent conferences. We are looking forward to this great event for our students!
6th Grade Class Trips
Our 6th grade class trips are also coming up! Please be on the lookout for important information and updates from your child’s teachers regarding trip details.
October 29 – Annual Trunk or Treat
Our annual BMS Trunk or Treat is coming up on October 29! This is always a wonderful event for our school community, and we are excited to make it another great evening for our students and families. In the PTO section, you will find a link where you can sign up to volunteer or donate to help make the event a success.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact by calling the main office or email. We appreciate your continued support and partnership as we work together to make this a successful school year for all of our students!
Have a wonderful weekend!
