BEAR NEWS
PARENT / STUDENT NEWSLETTER BEVERLY HILLS October 2026
Hello BHI Families!
October is here, and with it comes a busy season of learning, growth, and opportunities for our students. By now, students have settled into their routines, built relationships with their teachers, and completed the first grading period of the year. This is a great time to celebrate successes and reflect on goals for the weeks ahead.
As we have begun the second six weeks, we encourage students to stay focused and organized. Small habits such as attending school every day, completing assignments on time, and asking questions when help is needed can make a big difference in student success.
October is also a busy month! As we recognize Mental Health Awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness, and Bullying Prevention Month, we will encourage students to be supportive of one another and foster a culture of kindness and respect on our campus. We are also excited for Spirit Week and the chance to celebrate what makes BHI such a special community. And of course, Fall Break provides families and students an opportunity to recharge and return ready for a strong finish to the semester.
8th Grade CTHS Field Trip – October 14
Our 8th grade students will have the opportunity to visit CTHS on October 14. This experience gives students a chance to explore future educational opportunities, learn more about high school pathways, and begin thinking about their goals beyond intermediate school. We are excited for them to see the many possibilities that lie ahead.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can help our students make the most of every opportunity and have a successful second six weeks. We look forward to another great month at Beverly Hills Intermediate!
Ashley Collier
Principal
We are proud of our students and families for helping us maintain strong attendance this year! Every day in school is an opportunity for learning, growth, and meaningful connections with teachers and classmates. While we're doing great, our goal is always 100% attendance because every day counts. Even missing just a few days can make it harder for students to keep up with instruction and classroom activities. Thank you for making attendance a priority and helping your child arrive at school every day, on time, and ready to learn.

Dismissal Procedures
As we strive to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, I want to take a moment to remind you about our dismissal procedures.
Car Riders:
Our standard procedure is for car riders to be picked up in the front of the school. However, if you choose to pick up your child in the side parking lot, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Park in Designated Areas: It is imperative that you park your vehicle in a designated parking space and refrain from parking on the curb. This ensures a smooth flow of traffic and prevents congestion in the area.
Exercise Caution: We strongly advise against picking up your child in the side parking lot, as it can pose safety risks. However, if you opt for this alternative, please exercise extreme caution and be vigilant of other vehicles and pedestrians.
Increased Awareness: We have noticed an increase in the number of vehicles parking on the curb, which is a safety concern. Therefore, we cannot allow anyone to park in such a manner, as it obstructs traffic and jeopardizes the safety of our students and staff.
Bus Riders:
To ensure safety and efficiency, ALL all bus riders must report to the cafeteria for dismissal. Any bus rider who goes outside to wait for their bus will not be allowed to board. We'll continue to remind students of this, but we urge you to reinforce this message at home.
Your cooperation in following these procedures is greatly appreciated, as safety is our utmost priority. By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure a secure and efficient dismissal process for everyone involved.
2026-2027 INCENTIVE REQUIREMENTS
We will have several other incentives other than our 6 weeks incentives throughout the year. This includes the McDonald's Invitational, End of the Year pep rally, Picnic Under the Oaks etc. Incentives will be based off of grades, behavior, not clear list and attendance.
