Message From School Administration Message From School Administration

Dear Lisbon Families,

As we head into a short but meaningful week, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible success of last Friday’s Field Day! A huge thank you goes out to Ms. Lindauere, Ms. Wasson, and all of our wonderful volunteers who worked so hard to make the day memorable for our students. From organizing events to cheering students on, your time, energy, and enthusiasm created a fun-filled experience that our children truly enjoyed. We are so grateful for the strong partnership and support from our school community.

Please remember that schools will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. We honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Schools will also be closed on Wednesday, May 27th in observance of Eid. To all of our students, staff, and families celebrating, we wish you a joyful holiday.

We also hope to see many of our families at the PTA’s Bingo Night on Friday, May 29th! Thank you to our PTA for continuing to provide opportunities for our school community to come together and connect. It is sure to be a fun evening for all!

We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend, and we look forward to another great week together!

Dr. Carr & Mr. Scobie

Pocket Pantry Pocket Pantry

Howard County has launched a community-led initiative called the Pocket Pantry program. The Pocket Pantry offers residents in need free perishable and non-perishable food items, 24/7, no questions asked.

The goal of the Pocket Pantry program is to contribute to family and community wellness by reducing food waste, increasing food access, building community, promoting dignity and choice, and encouraging community sustainability.

In addition to our monthly Park- It -Market, sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church, Lisbon families and community members may now access a Lisbon Pocket Pantry at any time at the following location:

Heritage Realty Services, 15950 North Avenue, Lisbon

(sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church)

The refrigerator and accompanying pantry shelves are stocked with items such as fresh produce, dairy, meats and canned goods. Anyone can take what they need at any time. Community members are encouraged to donate food, non-perishable items as well as prepared meals.

Students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced lunch will be required to pay the daily meal price. Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits including free or discounted college tuition, testing and application fees, academic and athletic program fees, and many others in addition to free or discounted meals. Families are urged to check their eligibility and complete a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year. Details on the Free and Reduced Meals program, including a link to apply, are available online.
