Student Attendance
The Importance of Student Attendance at School
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. As we continue through the school year, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of consistent school attendance. Being present at school is crucial to your child’s academic success and overall development. Every school day is an opportunity for students to learn, grow, and build essential skills that will shape their future.
Regular attendance helps students stay engaged in lessons, develop strong study habits, and build relationships with teachers and peers. Missing even a few days can make it challenging for students to keep up with their coursework, leading to gaps in learning that can be difficult to recover. Studies show that students with good attendance are more likely to perform well academically and graduate on time.
We understand that there may be circumstances that make attendance difficult at times. If your child or family is facing challenges that impact their ability to attend school, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you and can work together to find solutions that ensure your child’s success.
Thank you for your partnership in prioritizing your child’s education. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact us.
Kind regards,
Mr. Soto (School Principal) & Ms. Arieyuonna Vincent (School Counselor)
What to do...
Last week, Feb. 3rd - 7th, our nurse sent approximately 20 students home with multiple symptoms of the flu.
- We ask that if your child is displaying any of the symptoms above - please stay home.
- The flu is highly contagious and can impact children and adults differently.
- Several staff members (including the principal) stood home due to illness.
- Please note: staying home for the flu or a cold is considered a medical excuse and does not count toward unexcused absences.
Valentine's Day PTA Fundraiser
100% of the proceeds will pay for ALL [Kindergarten—5th grade] Park Street students to attend an in-house Science Field Trip. The trip will be a full day of fun activities that support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and mathematics).

Car Rider Safety
To ensure the safety of both students and staff, please stay in line during car rider drop-off and pick-up. Cutting in or pulling around other vehicles can create dangerous situations and disrupt the flow of traffic. Following the designated procedures helps maintain a safe and efficient process for everyone.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation in keeping our school community safe. Thank you for setting a positive example and prioritizing student safety.
REMINDER: Early Checkout Policy
- Please limit early pick-up of children to emergencies and appointments.
- Unless it's an emergency, no student will be released between 2:45 and 3:15.
- If a child is out for any portion of the school day, the missed time is recorded as a tardy. A note sent in the morning will help us to have your child ready.
- Parents will be asked to wait for the dismissal bell. Come to the office to check out a student.
- Please be prepared to present photo identification upon request.
- NOTE: Any adult (18 years or older) must be registered in the ASPEN portal. Enrolling parent / legal guardian may add or remove an individual.
