Great Afternoon DKMS Parents! We've had another great week here in the middle school.

I would like to congratulate our middle school sports teams for great seasons. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys basketball teams wrapped up their seasons Thursday night and our girls competitive cheer team will have their last competition Monday night at Schoolcraft Middle School starting at 6:00 pm. Our middle school wrestling and girls basketball teams will begin practicing after we return from winter break. If your child does not have a current physical on file with us, please make sure you turn one into the high school athletic office so your child is able to participate.

We have made a few small changes in the middle school. Starting today, we have turned on our bell system. This will help our students transition faster in between classes and remind them to get to classes on time. The second is that starting Monday December 18, 2023, from 7:30 am to 7:50 am our 7th and 8th grade students will be in the cafeteria and our 5th and 6th grade students will grab their breakfast from the cafeteria and wait in room 10/11 (small auditorium).

Next week we will be having a holiday spirit week. As always we invite students to participate, but would like to remind them that their outfits must be school appropriate. If students would like to wear holiday related accessories this week, it will be allowed as long as it does not become a distraction in the classroom. The spirit days are as follows:

• Monday: Holiday/Regular Pajama day
• Tuesday: Dress like your favorite holiday movie character
• Wednesday: Ugly sweater day
• Thursday: Holiday Sock Day. The student council will be selling socks in the office for $2 a pair all day Wednesday and during P1 Thursday. All proceeds will be donated to a local charity to buy gifts for those in need.
• Friday: Family Photo Day (dress alike day)

As always I would like to thank our staff, students, families, and community for all of their hard work. If you ever have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Have a great weekend and one more week until our two week vacation!

Just can't hide that PANTHER PRIDE!!!
