Dear TMS Community,

As autumn settles in, TMS is running on high energy. A huge shout-out and best wishes to our incredible Cross Country Team who took first and second place at Sectionals last weekend and will compete at the State Meet this weekend—we are so proud of their hard work and wish them all the best!

Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday, 10/22/26 & 10/23/26, which are non-attendance days for students. In addition, please SAVE THE DATE for the PTA Fall Festival on Friday, 10/30/26 from 3-5 PM at TMS. We'll need parent volunteers so please be on the lookout for more information on this!

Students from France Visit TMS Students from France Visit TMS

On Monday, October 12, Isaac and Anouk, students from France, visited our 7th and 8th grade French classes! They were accompanied by their American hosts, Allison and Avery. The students asked questions about school, hobbies, and daily life in France, while also sharing some of the “can’t-miss” experiences and attractions in the Chicagoland area. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about another culture and make meaningful connections with students from France. Experiences like these bring language learning to life, turning classroom lessons into real-world connections and reminding our students that learning French opens doors to new friendships, cultures, and perspectives around the world!

Halloween is around the corner, and we’re excited to celebrate the season together at TMS! 🎃

At Thomas, we keep Halloween day focused on learning while still having fun. Students are welcome to dress up if they’d like, but we don’t host classroom parties or bring in candy and treats during the school day. This approach has worked well to keep the day enjoyable and running smoothly for everyone.

To make sure everyone has a safe and positive experience, please keep these Halloween Guidelines in mind for Friday, October 29, 2026:

  • No changing outfits, applying makeup, or using hairspray at school.

  • No masks or face coverings during the day.

  • No props of any kind.

  • No blood, gore, or anything that shows violence.

We can’t wait to see some creative (and school-appropriate!) costumes around the building. Let’s make it a great day — full of learning, laughter, and Wolf Pack spirit!

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Thomas Administration at 847-398-4260.
