Principal Lima's Eagle News
Dear Families and Students,
Even though it was a short week, we packed in a lot of fun and learning at DES!
On Thursday, the State Police helicopter landed at DMS for its annual visit, and some of our DES students had the exciting opportunity to watch it arrive. It was definitely a memorable experience for many of them!
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming author Peter H. Reynolds to DES, and what an amazing way to kick off summer reading! A huge thank you to the Dighton PTO for purchasing one of his books and ensuring that every student had the opportunity to bring home one of his stories to enjoy. Check out our socials Monday for photos from the event.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! If you are heading to the Cow Chip Festival, have fun and stay safe. 💚💛☀️🦅
As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Katelyn Lima, Principal (klima@drregional.org)
Mr. Kenneth Girouard, Assistant Principal (kgirouard@drregional.org)

Class Buddies
Here are some pictures of Mrs. St. Germain's class hard at work! Students practiced presenting their animal projects with Gena’s class and also began our mini-unit on national symbols with Katie’s class during Munchkins and Monuments. It has been wonderful seeing students collaborate, build confidence, and learn together!
State Police Helicopter
On Thursday, the Massachusetts State Police helicopter landed at DMS as part of their annual Career Day, and DES students had the exciting opportunity to see it firsthand! Watching the helicopter land up close was an unforgettable experience for many of our Eagles and sparked excitement and curiosity about future careers in public service and aviation.

Room 24 has been learning about the butterfly life cycle this week while waiting for our chrysalises to turn into Butterflies! Today we made hats with the different stages of their life cycle.
Fitness is Fun!
The Fitness is Fun ACE program ended this week. Most popular activities are the ropes, gymnastics, basketball, soccer, playing outside, and the parachute. The reason why they like coming is making and being with friends, along with getting exercise and being healthy. I hope more friends join again next school year.
