Happy Friday, Riverside Families!

Thank you to everyone who helped decorate our PTO float and planned to walk with us in the Homecoming Parade. We were so excited to have our Riverside families be part of the celebration!

While the rain changed the overall Homecoming plans, it didn’t stop our students from having a great week! There was plenty of school spirit, smiles, and fun along the way. 💜

Stay Connected with Riverside Elementary

Our Facebook page is an additional resource for important school information, updates, reminders, and celebrations! We welcome all of our Riverside families to join the Riverside Elementary Facebook page and stay connected with everything happening at our school.

At Riverside, we strive to communicate openly with our families and build a strong school community. Together, we can create a positive foundation where our students, families, and staff feel connected, supported, and valued.

We are so thankful to have you as part of our Riverside family!!

Children are welcome to enter the building each day at 8:00 a.m. to enjoy breakfast and begin their day in a calm, structured environment, ready for learning.

Please note that all students who arrive between 8:00 and 8:20 a.m. will remain in the cafeteria and enjoy breakfast during this time. Students will not be permitted to go to their lockers or access other areas of the building until breakfast time has ended.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a calm and successful start to each school day!

We have some attendance information that we would like to bring to your attention:

• If your student will be absent, please call the absence line @ 565-4701 and leave a detailed message.
• If your student is late for school or needs to leave early, please make sure that you sign your student in or out on our computer.
• If your student has been absent and has a doctor's note, please bring that into the office, as soon as possible.
• If your student is going to be absent for any length of time, please come into the office and fill out an extended absence form.

📚 Our Library Is Open and Ready for Readers! 📚

Our library is officially open, and we are so excited to welcome our students! Some classes have already started visiting as part of their weekly schedules, and the library is looking so warm, inviting, and ready for our young readers to explore.

A HUGE shout-out to Ms. Ayres for her dedication, hard work, and love in making our library such a wonderful space for students! Your efforts have created a welcoming place where imaginations can grow and a love of reading can flourish. Thank you for everything you do!

A HUGE thank-you to our Family Engagement Committee for planning so many fun activities for our families to enjoy! We appreciate all the time, effort, and creativity you put into making these events special for our Riverside community. 💛

Thank you to all of our wonderful families who stopped by the cafeteria to enjoy the fall festivities with us! We loved seeing everyone come together to celebrate, connect, and make special memories.

Our Book Fair will be open during both nights of Parent-Teacher Conferences! 🎉

⏰ We’ll be open until 4:00 PM each day, and our students will also have the opportunity to shop with their class during the school day.

Health Department hours:

Monday-Thursday: 7:00-12:30 and 1:00-4:30

Friday: 8:00 to 12:00

4th Grade Medieval Times Celebration!

Our 4th graders are currently studying the Middle Ages, also known as Medieval Times, in CKLA! As they prepare to wrap up this exciting ELA unit, students will participate in a fun activity to celebrate all they have learned.

As part of the festivities, students will have the opportunity to design and decorate their own medieval shields during art class!

If you are willing and able, we would greatly appreciate donations of pre-cut cardboard in the shape of a shield or large pieces of cardboard that students can use to create their own designs. A piece approximately 12 x 18 inches would be ideal.

We would also appreciate donations of aluminum foil to help bring their medieval creations to life!

If you are unable to send in cardboard or aluminum foil, no worries! We will have supplies available for all students to participate.
