#SoaringTogether November 6 - 10
From the Desk of Dr. Gantt
Happy Sunday Wise Owl Families!
We are entering into the holiday season and we have a lot to celebrate at Whitesville Elementary School! I have heard from a countless number families of the positive experiences that they have had so far this year and I have hear from some families who have not had the best experience, yet. I can't help but think about how far we have come. Coming into the year, we had a number of vacancies in some very pivotal positions. As the year progressed, we added 5 classes, effecting well over 100 families; however, we still have a lot to celebrate.
Our teachers have had over 10 hours of professional learning that directly impacts their classroom instruction, our students have become leaders within the building with the rise of our student ambassadors, and we have had nearly 2500 families on campus for our varying events from Meet the Teacher Night to Curriculum Night, WatchDOGS, and Parent-Teacher Conferences.
I was told, the moment you have "arrived," then it is time to depart. I say this often, and I mean it... We are just getting started! Thank you all so much for entrusting us with your children. We promise to help the become better versions of themselves when they leave WES.

To centralize communication and to ensure a more "one-stop shop" method of communication from school to home, WES will move from Classroom Dojo to Rooms, which is aligned with our BCSD app.
We will be sharing more information with Rooms in our Thursday Folders over the next month with the plan to have full implementation by Friday, November 10th.
Reading is FUNdamental!
Did you know...
WES provides intervention support for our students who need additional support in the areas of Reading and Math? Our teachers provide support within the classroom setting through small groups and one-to-one instruction. We also have interventionists who pull students out of the classroom in small groups to provide additional support as well.
Clothing Request at WES
Our school clothes closet is in need of the following sizes: boys pants 6-8, and 10-12 as well as girls pants 10 -12. If you have any gently used bottoms that you would be willing to donate, please send them to Miss Gard or Nurse Denise.
