From the Principals Desk

Dear Parents and Families,

We had another great week at Young Elementary! Our students worked very hard as they completed their NWEA MAP Beginning-of-Year assessments, and we are proud of the effort and determination they showed. These assessments help us better understand each student’s strengths and areas for growth so that we can provide the best possible instruction moving forward.

I also want to take a moment to thank our incredible staff. They have been working tirelessly to make sure our students are supported, engaged, and challenged as the school year is now in full swing. It is truly a team effort, and I am so grateful for their dedication.

Just as important, I want to recognize the vital role our parents play in this work. The partnership between home and school is key to our students’ success. Your support, encouragement, and communication make a tremendous difference in helping our children thrive each day.

As we head into the long weekend, I hope each of you is able to enjoy some rest and time with family and friends. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Labor Day!

Sincerely,
Andrew Hohman
Principal, Young Elementary

Parent Guide to Success

Shoes That Fit Fundraiser Shoes That Fit Fundraiser

A message from Coach Harrison!

Help us ensure every child comes to school with confidence and comfort! Many students in our community lack properly fitting shoes, which impacts their ability to learn, play, and thrive. By supporting our Shoes That Fit Fundraiser, you’ll provide new, well-fitting shoes to children who need them most. Together, we can make sure no child is held back by something as simple as shoes.

Every dollar makes a difference—thank you for helping us change lives, one pair at a time!

Start with Hello Week was a blast! There were so many positive messages shared, sweet conversations at lunch, and the best selfies with new friends! And of course signing the friendship banner and wearing our Eagle gear together is one for the memory bank!

I loved seeing everyone work together to make Young a commUNITY we are proud of! 💙 💚

This week in our counseling lessons we focused on defining Empathy and Respect. We also came up with different ways to show respect and empathy toward others. These character traits are essential to being the best humans we can be!

In 3rd Grade we used this poster to help us remember whole body listening! Using whole body listening makes us respectful learners! 👉
