A New Year is Upon Us

We know that safety is on the minds of many of our families these days, and the MAPS community continues to take that responsibility very seriously. Over the past few weeks MAPS and Franklin School have shared many messages reiterating the importance of keeping our students and families safe. We at Franklin talk a lot about loving our students, and keeping the ones you love safe is incredibly important. Below is a letter shared with Franklin families last week outlining all we do to create the safest environment possible.

Kindergarten Connection is just around the corner at Mankato Area Public Schools and Franklin Elementary! Families are invited to attend this special event on February 23 from 4:30–6:00 p.m. right here at Franklin. This is a great opportunity to meet the principal, the kindergarten teachers and other staff who will work with your child, tour classrooms and the building, and get your questions answered as you prepare for the year ahead. We look forward to welcoming your family and helping your child feel confident and excited about starting kindergarten. Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is now open. Also coming in February is I Love to Read Month. As we do every year at this time, the coming month is packed with activities encouraging students and families to read. Hopefully your family can make it to Franklin for the Read Out on the evening of Feb. 2nd. It's typically a memorable evening for all who attend.
