Happy June!! Happy Summer Break!!! π»π»π»
Dear Columbiaville Families,
As we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all the fun learning and memorable moments weβve shared together!
From Touch the Truck and Truck or Treat, to the awe-inspiring Sky Dome and the unforgettable ReMax Hot Air Balloon experience, this year has been packed with exciting events that brought smiles to our studentsβ faces and joy to our school community. We explored the world through field trips, giggled with excitement during the Easter Bunny visit, cheered on teammates at Field Day, and celebrated success during our PRIDE parties. And who could forget the fun of Tatt the Teacher?! π
It has truly been a joy learning and growing with your children this year. Watching them discover new things, show leadership, and build lasting friendships has been such a gift. Weβre proud of all their hard work, and weβre grateful for your support every step of the way.
As summer begins, we hope you enjoy time outdoors, explore new places, and make wonderful memories with family and friends. Please continue to encourage your child to read daily, ask questions, and keep learning in fun ways. Little moments of learning over the summer can make a big difference!
And donβt forget to keep practicing those Leader in Me habits at homeβwhether itβs being proactive, setting goals, or working together as a family. These habits help our students grow into thoughtful, confident leaders.
Thank you for being a part of our Columbiaville family. We look forward to another amazing year ahead, full of new memories, exciting opportunities, and lots of learning!
Wishing you a happy, safe, and sunshine-filled summer! βοΈ

Honoring Amanda π
Amanda's Buddy Bench (inside)
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the LakeVille High School Woodshop and Mr. Mavis for building and painting our very special "Buddy Bench" in honor of our beloved Amanda. This beautiful tribute reflects Amandaβs deep passion for making sure every student felt accepted, included, and loved.
We are especially touched that Amandaβs daughter helped paint the bench and added special, meaningful artwork that brings her momβs spirit to life. Columbiaville Elementary is incredibly grateful for this thoughtful and lasting giftβit is a perfect way to honor such a beautiful soul.
Amanda's Buddy Bench (outside)
The Columbiaville PTS honored their amazing friend, Amanda Rodriguez, by putting a buddy bench out on the playground for her. If you had the honor of knowing her, she was the best βbuddyβ ever and loved all of the kids at Columbiaville Elementary. She will forever be missed!
Falcon Award Winner! Mr. Bryan CONGRATULATIONS!!
Congratulations, Bryan!
Shouting a HUGE Congratulations to Bryan!
Bryan goes above and beyond every single dayβnot because he has to, but because thatβs just who he is.
He comes to work with a warm smile and a positive attitude that lifts everyone around him. Bryan takes the time to check in on staff and students, often asking if weβre doing okay or if we need anythingβeven in the busiest moments of his day. He doesnβt wait to be asked; if he sees a need, he quietly steps in and helps, whether itβs moving furniture, fixing something on the fly, or simply offering a word of encouragement when someone needs it most.
What makes Bryan truly special is his heart. He often gives up his own time to help others, never expecting anything in return. His selfless nature, incredible work ethic, and kind spirit make him more than just a custodianβhe is a constant source of support, positivity, and strength in our building.
Bryan is, without a doubt, an angel in disguise, and Columbiaville Elementary is beyond blessed to have him as part of our team.
Please join us in celebrating this well-earned recognition.
Way to go, Bryan! π¦ #FalconAward #ColumbiavillePride

"Mastering Math with Mr. Petty: Tips for Success!!πππ
π’ Mr. Pettyβs Math Support: Helping Students Build Confidence in Math! π’β¨
Mr. Petty is excited to share helpful math strategies and practice suggestions to support both students and parents! His goal is to make math more accessible and fun while building strong foundational skills that will benefit students in the classroom and beyond. Math is an essential life skill, and with regular practice and the right strategies, every student can grow in confidence and success. Stay tuned for tips, tricks, and activities to help your child thrive in math! ππ
A recent study found that improving math skills has long term benefits--even more than improving reading skills or health. See more information here: https://www.the74million.org/article/study-math-scores-matters-more-for-adult-earnings-than-reading-health-factors/
For students to be successful in mathematics, they have to learn basic facts and understand them. It's not enough to just know math "shortcuts" that get an answer. Games are a great way to boost math skills. Here's one simple game that uses a deck of cards: Make 10 Matching https://sites.google.com/lakevillefalcons.org/cv-math-exploration/make-10-matching
Making time to memorize the 0-12 multiplication table can make a huge difference in later math classes! Division, fractions, percents, and so much more will be easier.
Here are tips for practicing at home:
