A colorful cartoon illustration of a friendly blue dragon playing a game of Twister with three young children. The dragon, which has light blue wings and red scales along its spine, sits on the left side of the Twister mat. The three children—a blonde boy in an orange shirt, a girl with brown hair in a pink striped shirt, and a boy with dark hair in a green shirt—are positioned around the mat, smiling and placing their hands on the various colored circles (red, blue, yellow, and green). In the bottom right corner of the frame, there is a game spinner resting on the white mat. The background is a solid white.

Stone Creek has been Transformed!

Get ready for an epic return! While our wonderful students and staff were enjoying their winter break, something magical happened at Stone Creek Elementary...

The ENTIRE SCHOOL has been taken over by Games! Upon your return to Stone Creek you will have to:

  • Navigate the sweet squares of Candyland following hallway expectations!

  • Make strategic moves to stay safe on the playground like you are walking around the properties of Monopoly!

  • See if your body has self control for the twists of Twister or sitting for a lesson.

Don't plan on the roll of the dice or a lucky draw to win this game. It only works if every single student remembers the most important rule of all: FOLLOW ALL THE RULES and THE DRAGON CODE!

Represent your team in house colors!

To compete in this epic challenge for ultimate school bragging rights and valuable House Points, please send your student back on Jan. 5, dressed in their House Colors!

Why Does Attendance Matter?

According to American University in Washington DC as many as one in six students the the U.S.A miss enough school to be considered chronically absent. The effects of absenteeism on a student can be profound and often carry on to adulthood. Check out these facts:

  • Missing just 2 days per month is 10% or 1 month of the school year!
  • Kindergarten and first-grade students who are chronically absent have an 81% chance of reading below grade level in third grade
  • In 4th grade, chronically absent students score an average of 12 points lower on state tests than students with better attendance

How Can I Support my Student's Attendance?

  • Set a regular bedtime routine
  • Lay out clothes the night before
  • Arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes early
  • Don't let your child stay home unless they are truly sick
  • Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session
