Daniel Feeney Preschool Update October 20, 2023
zoom_out_map

Greetings Feeney Families and Friends

We explored apple trees, pumpkin patches, and farmers market during dramatic play, we are examining pumpkins in our science centers, and our sensory bins are full of sand, hay, straw, as well as some creepy spiders and worms! In Fundations students are learning the sound the letter B makes and students have met baby Echo! Mathematical language includes comparing small, big, more and less using objects such as leaves and acorns. We continue to focus on social emotional learning through text and linking feelings to the Zones of Regulation.

We look forward to seeing you next week during our conferences. It is a good opportunity for us to learn more about your student from you, their first teacher - and for us to share how your student is doing here at the preschool. While you're here, please check out the Scholastic Book Fair in Elm's cafeteria.

I hope you enjoy your weekend and the rain stays away enough so you can get outside and enjoy this wonderful season.

Best regards,

Julie

There will be a picture retake day at Daniel Feeney and this will take place on Friday, December 1. While it is a long way off, please make a note of it and notify your child's teacher if you would like a retake.

Holidays, Customs, and Traditions in your Family

We encourage you to share your family's traditions, customs, and culture with us so we can celebrate those in our classrooms! We celebrate Diwali on November 4th as well as many other holidays and traditions.

Conference Time

We look forward to seeing you at conferences next week. I will be available if there are any questions, concerns, or suggestions you have about the preschool. Your input is valued and appreciated.

Save the Date! A PAC Event in November

Our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is planning a grown up night's out on Saturday, October 18 at 6 pm. While details are still being worked on, this is a great opportunity to get out and meet some other DFP parents and caregivers and raise some money for the preschool at the same time. It will be in the function room of Napper Tandy's (downstairs) and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Get your babysitter now and join us for a fun night out! There will be more details to come.
