BEAR MAIL
Friday May 29th.
Message from Mrs. Fippin
Hi Everyone,
Today was so much fun. Field Day was a blast! It is so fun to get out with the entire school and have some fun. We also had a blast with some extra water play with the 5th graders. To end our day we got to celebrate all the hard work of our 3rd-5th graders CAASPP testing with a Root Bear Float Party. Levi Chavez, from Mrs. Robertson's 4th grade, was Principal for the Day! It was great to have his help. What a jammed packed day of fun and a great way to end a week!
Summer learning books are going home this week. We hope that every student can do at least one of the options over the summer. The "Summer Slide" is a real thing. Everyone works so hard throughout the school year, we hope that each student can keep at least some learning continuing over the summer. We will have some fun prizes in the fall for those that complete at least 1 option of the road map.
Report Cards will go home on the last day of school. To see your child's Report Card Descriptors please go to www.slvusd.org. Click "Family/Students"--> "Guardian Resources"--> "TK-5 Report Card Information." The direct link is HERE.
Yearbooks- will be passed out next week. Please ask your teacher for specific days.
5th Grade Advancement is on Wednesday at 9 am. Please note that we do not have parking on campus. You need to plan ahead for parking and time to walk up. We do encourage you to bring a low lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. All families will be on the grass.
THINGS NOT TO BRING TO ADVANCEMENT
Air Horns and Silly String:
Air Horns can hurt the ears of others and Silly String can cause damage to the turf field and is a giant mess that someone else has to clean up.
Shoes with heels:
Graduates - heels can damage the track and the turf field. Please wear flats or wedge heels. No exceptions.
Note from Ms. Callahan- Ms.Callahan urges you to remind your students to return their books to the library before the last day of school.
Next week our schedule is a bit different. We have regular out on Monday-Tuesday. Wednesday out at 1:15 and Thursday, please see the schedule below.
We still have lots of field trips and activities next week. All parents and volunteers please make sure to check in at the office.
We have so many items at the Lost and Found. Please come by and check it out to see if you have any clothes. All clothes will go to a charity once school is out.
Have a wonderful weekend! Only 4 school days left until Summer Break!

4th Grade Multicultural Club Booth
Our BCE Multicultural Club set up a booth this week, with club members sharing information about sports from around the world and teaching students how to say “hello” in different languages. Students had a chance to learn about different cultures and get small prizes. The booth also gave students an opportunity to proudly share their backgrounds, helping create a fun and welcoming environment where students could learn about and celebrate cultures from around the world.
Kids teaching kids calm down strategies!
This week, a second group of 2nd grade calm down coaches volunteered to teach Kindergarten students some of their favorite calm-down techniques! Thank you to all of our brave coaches!
Tips to stay healthy for the last week of school...
Registration is open for the 2026/2027 School Year
We are the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teachers and Instructional Aides form Boulder Creek Elementary School, and we are so excited to welcome new learners!! If you have a child who will turn 4 before September 1st, they are eligible for TK and we are happy to enroll them!!
Tk is a wonderful bridge between preschool and kindergarten. Our classrooms focus on social emotional growth, early literacy and math skills, and lots of hands-on, play-based learning in a a positive and nurturing environment. Best of all it's part of the public school system- so it's free!
If you're still deciding between preschool and TK or have any questions about TK, please email us or call the BCE Office at 831-338-6413. We love helping families make the best decision for their little ones.
Look forward to a great year of learning and growing together!!

Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
