The North Little Rock Board of Education approved a resolution to ask voters to fund the district's capital improvement projects. These projects, based on survey results from the community, include the following:

• Build a middle school campus
• Renovate Ole Main
• Build an indoor sports and activity center
• Demolish the former Poplar Street Middle School Building, the Administrative
• Demolish the Administrative Annex
• Demolish the former Police and Courts Building

The proposal also includes the demolition of the former Poplar Street Middle School Building, the Administrative Annex, and the former Police and Courts Building.

Voters will see the ballot question during the November election.

Mrs. Pamela Criss, the Coordinator of Early Childhood and School Readiness, presented data to the Board of Education about the academic growth of students in our Pre-K program.

In addition, State Senator Clarke Tucker presented on the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and its benefits to promote a culture of reading among children in underserved communities. As a result of this partnership, children between the ages of 0-5 who live in our school zone will receive a book in the mail each month free of charge.

The district will provide an annual contribution of $31,824 for this initiative.

The North Little Rock Board of Education approved the clean audit results of the financial audit from last budget year. HCJ CPAs & Advisors conducted the audit. Audits are required by the Arkansas Department of Education.
