Message from the Principal, Dr. Sterling H. Seemans
Bulldog Community,
Brandywine High School is a tremendous place to learn and work. The culture in this building is defined by a culmination of things. Relationships between students and staff. Strong instructional opportunities like honors and AP courses. Competitive extra curricular activities like sports, clubs, and within the fine and performing arts. Walking the halls or enjoying a meal in our cafeteria, it’s wonderful to look around and see the diversity that is represented in our student body. I would encourage anyone who questions if Brandywine High School is really “the place to be” or not to come see it for themselves. Attend a Friday night football game under the lights or another athletic event, watch a play or musical performance, or simply come in for a tour or shadow day.
There is pride here that is defined by those who wear the blue and white over the past 68 years, those who wear it now, and those who will wear it in the future. In a world where we can be easily distracted by any number of things, I believe it is important to look at the full picture. This past week was our homecoming week. The atmosphere was light and fun. Students showed pride not just in their individual graduating classes, but in Brandywine High School as a whole. This pride culminated at our pep rally that was bursting with enthusiasm. There were performances from our band, the cheerleaders, and the dance team. Students’ individual classes competed in fun activities that demonstrated their comradery. Students and staff came together at the end to have fun and celebrate who we are. One great school and an incredible community. That is the Brandywine High School I know and experience everyday.
As always, I pride myself in leading a school built on pride, support for all, and transparency. I welcome parents, students, and members of the community to give me a call or shoot me an email should they ever have a question, inquiry, or concern.
All The Best,
Dr. Sterling H. Seemans
Principal

26-27: Public Feedback on Brandywine High School Budget
As I prepare and finalize my budgetary priorities for the 2026-2027 school year I am looking for your feedback to ensure I have a wide range of perspectives. My number one goal with regards to the Brandywine High School budget is to be a good fiscal steward. Perspectives from all stakeholders is important and families are major stakeholders within our Brandywine community. If you have suggestions for improvements that can be made, initiatives that should be considered, or specific items that will help to improve the academic, athletic, arts, social, and/or emotional experience for our students please feel free to complete the form below.
Over the years in other schools that I have run, I have utilized this feedback to make changes which include updated allocations for more equitable practices in athletics, adaptable equipment to support students of all abilities, and other improvements in the building. Please know that although every suggestion will be taken under serious consideration, we cannot guarantee requests will have funds allocated to them. Should you wish to discuss this further, do not hesitate to call me at the school directly.
All The Best,
Dr. Sterling H. Seemans

Planning For Your Future Newsletter
The Brandywine School District now has a monthly newsletter to keep families informed about what they can do to support their students as they plan for their future after high school.
BSD helps students to go to college, join the military, complete a training program/trade school, or get a job following high school. We want students to learn about their options and choose the path that is best for them.

Advertise on Bulldogssports.com!
Brandywine High School Athletics is offering local businesses the opportunity to advertise on our athletics website, bulldogssports.com, during the 2026–2027 school year.
Our website is regularly visited by students, families, staff, alumni, and community members looking for team schedules, rosters, scores, results, and photos. For $500, a business advertisement will rotate on the main page throughout the school year and can link directly to the business’s website or a promotional coupon page.
If you own a business or know of a local business that may be interested in advertising and supporting Brandywine Athletics, please share the attached sponsorship form with them. This is a great way for businesses to promote their services while supporting our student-athletes and athletic programs.
Completed forms, payments, and advertisements can be submitted to me. Ads should be sent as a JPG file to darren.schulke@bsd.k12.de.us.
Thank you for helping us spread the word and for your continued support of Brandywine High School Athletics!

Panorama Survey At BHS
Thank you for being our partners as we work together to educate and support your children.
As we enter another year of participating in the Panorama Survey, we continue to prioritize developing social-emotional learning skills as an important goal for our school district. We will ask students in Grades 6–12 to reflect on their mindsets, learning approaches, and school experiences through an online survey completed at school. The survey should take approximately 20–30 minutes.
The survey has two parts and asks students to reflect on the following areas:
- Part 1: Sense of Belonging, Expectations, and Classroom Learning Strategies
- Part 2: Mental Health, Diversity and Inclusion, and Cultural Awareness and Action
We are asking all students to participate. Their responses will provide valuable insight into their experiences and help us identify ways to improve as a district. Panorama safeguards student privacy and keeps individual responses confidential.
The administration schedule and parent/guardian opt-out deadlines are:
- Grade 9: October 12–16
Opt-out deadline: October 5 - Grade10: November 9–13
Opt-out deadline: November 2 - Grades 11 and 12: November 16–20
Opt-out deadline: November 9 - Makeup administration: November 30–December 4
Opt-out deadline: November 23
If you do not want your child to participate, or if you have additional questions, please contact Mrs. Adrienne Stansbury at adrienne.stansbury@bsd.k12.de.us by the deadline providing your child’s name and grade level. Students who are absent during their scheduled survey window may participate during the makeup period. The survey questions are available for families to preview on our website:www.brandywineschools.org/panorama.
