Class of 2025 - Graduation Ceremony Class of 2025 - Graduation Ceremony

The high school graduation ceremony was held on May 30, 2025 at War Memorial Town Park. The weather cooperated and it was a beautiful night.

The academic leader & class president, Samara David, along with their class speaker, Abby Matta did an outstanding job delivering heartfelt and inspiring speeches to their graduating class. Their delivery was confident, authentic, and moving. Both speeches left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

It was a day to remember, filled with a ton of pride for our graduates. We wish them well as they begin their next journey.

As the term came to a close Mr. Ennis’ American Legal class was able to make time for some guest speakers including 2 former WB grads, Nick Fisher and Megan Beyer. Nick shared his journey through undergrad and law school as well as his experience currently as a paralegal at Vieira & DiGianfilippo Ltd. Megan currently co-owns her own firm Kelliher & Beyer, LLP and spoke about her journey to becoming a lawyer and her various forms of work in Land court, arbitration, research in human trafficking and her current work in family law. A third guest speaker, Hillary Thompson, also came in to talk about her job as a Crime Analysts for the Brockton Police Department. She explained the many aspects of her job including how she works with many surrounding police departments including West Bridgewater. These guest speakers provide great insight into real world applications of the law and legal study.

Grade 8 Civics Grade 8 Civics

8th grade students in Ms. Martin’s civics classes completed their Massachusetts Mandated Civics Projects. Its purpose is to become more civically engaged and try to change something in society through government action. Our classes all chose to work collaboratively together to complete websites, posters, pamphlets, videos and slideshows to highlight a town service and promote it out to the community to allow for townspeople to know what their services provide! Students chose to research town hall, the library, open space department, fire department and the council on aging! Students worked all year (on top of the regular curriculum) researching, connecting with local officials, visiting, collaborating and putting together a series of resources. Students showed their civic involvement and were very successful! Great job 8th graders! Click the button below to access their work.

Student Work

World Language World Language

Students in Ms. Kotsovolos’s Spanish I classes have concluded the year discussing hobbies and pastimes, integrating some difficult and irregular verbs into their lessons. Students have been fully engaged in the grammar presented this term through intense games of Battleship in Spanish! In the Spanish II classes, students are wrapping up their crime unit, learning about the past tense and storytelling. Spanish III classes are culminating their year using reflexive verbs and describing their daily routines both during the school year and during the long awaited summer vacation. Finally, students in Spanish IV are finishing their year out learning about various Hispanic influences here in the US, from Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta to Jennifer Lopez and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The World Language Department wishes all students and families an enjoyable and safe summer vacation!

Science Science

AP Biology students in Mrs. Brogna’s class finished the year strong! Students traveled to the Museum of Natural History in Boston, MA to explore ecology and evolution with the Glass Botany and Kingdom Animalia exhibits. The last week of classes, AP biology students visited kindergarten classes at the Spring Street to lead fun science experiments on density and cell membranes. The younger students are definitely excited to enter advanced science classes…in good time.

A Visit To Olson’s Greenhouses

Last month, members of the WB Garden Club & Living With The Land Club had the exciting opportunity to tour Olson’s Greenhouses in Raynham. During the visit, students learned firsthand about the greenhouse’s long-standing business, its customers, and its rich history in the horticultural industry.

The tour covered a variety of fascinating topics, including the differences between annuals and perennials, greenhouse sizes, heating and cooling stages, crop timing, and plant production. Students also explored the importance of plug and pot sizes, grow time, irrigation methods, and water conservation strategies.

A highlight of the tour was learning about Olson’s Beneficial Insect program, which promotes natural pest control—an eco-friendly approach to plant health!

Our curious students asked thoughtful questions throughout the tour and walked approximately 1.5 miles around the property. It was a fun, educational day filled with hands-on learning and new appreciation for the science of growing!

As we head into summer, we encourage families to take time to relax, recharge, and reflect on the year. Here are a few fun and meaningful ways to enjoy the break together:

1. Explore local activities – Check out local parks, libraries, museums, or free summer events in your community. Even a neighborhood hike or farmers' market visit can spark great conversations and memories.

2. Try a new hobby or skill – Summer is the perfect time to learn something new, like cooking, drawing, coding, or even starting a small DIY project. Encourage your student to pursue something just for fun!

3. Volunteer as a family – Giving back together can be a rewarding way to stay connected and active. Many local organizations welcome teen and family volunteers during the summer months.

A Message From The Lead Nurse, Julie Diedrichsen A Message From The Lead Nurse, Julie Diedrichsen

VAPING VAPING

The current rates of teenage vaping are alarming. On average, teens are trying their first vape at about 14 years old with 1 in 20 middle school students and 1 in 10 high school students currently using nicotine products today. In Massachusetts nearly 50% of high school students have tried vaping at least once.

Vaping is the act of inhaling a vapor produced by an electronic vaporizer or e-cigarette. E-cigarettes create an aerosol by using a battery to heat up liquid that usually contains nicotine and/or THC, flavorings and other additives. Users inhale this aerosol into their lungs with serious health implications such as respiratory and cardiovascular disease, cancer, depression/anxiety/mood disorders, addiction, and a host of other issues related to the exposure to a multitude of heavy metals, toxins and chemicals.

How can I tell if my child is vaping?

Many types of e-cigarettes are manufactured to resemble everyday items that can easily fit in a pocket or the palm of a hand. In addition, they come in fruit and candy flavors (although these flavors are now restricted in MA). For these reasons, it may be hard to tell if your child is vaping—you may not recognize a vaping device or an e-liquid scent.

The best way to know is to educate yourself about the products and to talk with your kids.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has some great information for both adults and youth about vaping. If you have not visited the website GetOutraged.org, I encourage you to do so. It contains valuable information about e-cigarettes, tips on talking with your kids, and other resources. There are also free quit resources to help students who are already addicted to vapes or other tobacco products. Resources include This is Quitting, a free and confidential texting program and My Life My Quit™ a program in which young people can connect with a specially trained youth coach via phone, text, or online. The Department of Public Health also has a website for youth at mass.gov/vaping with facts and information about quitting.
