🐯 No Internet? No Problem! Our Tigers Are Still Learning!🐯
At Southampton, learning doesn't stop when the internet does! While RPS continues to experience internet connectivity issues, our teachers are getting creative, adjusting lessons, and keeping our Tigers engaged in meaningful instruction without technology!
We are also currently unable to make copies at school, which creates an additional challenge for our teachers. A HUGE SHOUT OUT to the Richmond Public Library for opening its doors to RPS teachers this weekend so they can make copies and prepare instructional materials for their students! We are incredibly grateful for this community partnership and for our teachers who continue to go above and beyond!
📅 Big Week Ahead!

Marco’s Reading Challenge started Monday!
We’re excited to launch the Marco’s Reading Challenge, a partnership between Richmond Education Fund and Marco’s Pizza, beginning Monday, October 19.
Students will work toward 804 total points by reading and completing activities that help them explore, connect, share, and create.
Each student will receive a Reading Challenge Passport to track their progress. Families can help by encouraging students to read regularly, complete activities, and keep their passport updated throughout the challenge.
The challenge will run through the Friday before Thanksgiving.
Be on the lookout for your student’s passport and more information coming home this week. We can’t wait to see our students reading, creating, and working toward 804!

🐯 Help Us Bring the PTA to Our Communities!
This year, the Southampton PTA would like to hold several of its hybrid PTA Board Meetings in the communities where our families live. We hope this makes it easier for more families to connect, participate, and have a voice in the work of our PTA.
We are looking for family or community hosts who can help us coordinate meeting space at the following apartment communities:
- December 8 | 5:30 PM — Hioaks
- February 9 | 5:30 PM — Ashley Park
- April 13 | 5:30 PM — Beaufont
If you live in one of these communities and would be willing to help sponsor/coordinate a space for a PTA meeting, we would love to hear from you! Please email the Southampton PTA at sespta3333@gmail.com.
❤️ Our goal is simple: bring the PTA closer to our families and make it easier for everyone to be part of the Southampton community. 🐯
