CPHS Weekly Update
October 19th, 2026
Greetings from Crown Point High School!
Here is some information for our parents and families as we begin a new week at CPHS.
School Pictures
Retake Picture Days are coming up on:
- Wednesday, Oct 21 and Tuesday, Oct 27 in the Small Group Instruction (SGI) Room from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. any time student schedule allows
- If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.
- If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.
-
Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 0514VPF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. To see your Order History, check your Inter-State Account.
Find answers to Retake Day questions here.

College Rep Visits
Representatives from the following school will be at CPHS this week:
October 21st
- Carthage College (WI) - 1:30pm
October 22nd
- Calvin College (MI) - 1:30pm
Students can sign up through their Naviance account: https://student.naviance.com/crownphs
Cell Phones
A new Indiana law prohibits students from using cell phones and other personal communication devices during the school day (7:35am -2:37pm), including passing periods, study halls, and lunch. This is a statewide legal requirement that all public schools must implement. The law applies to cell phones, smart watches, smart glasses, tablets brought from home, etc.
Please be mindful of this Indiana law and talk to your students prior to the first day of school. We will work with students when school starts with school announcements, posters, and reminders.
Senior Parents - Graduation
Graduation orders, including your senior’s cap and gown for the graduation ceremony, can be made with Herff Jones now until February 28th, 2027.
Herff Jones offers a variety of optional packages and senior items. Please visit the website: herffjones.com or see flyer for more information: Class of 2027 Herff Jones Flyer
Cap and gown distribution will be at CPHS (spring 2027 dates TBD).
Questions about orders should be directed to Herff Jones representative, Doug Kingsley at dakingsley@herffjones.com
Student Square
If parents need to communicate with their child during the school day, one option is the Family Messaging feature in ParentSquare. Students will only be able to communicate with their legal guardians using this feature by being logged into StudentSquare on their Chromebook. You can find instructions in the image linked here: Student Square
Parking Passes
Student drivers may pick up parking passes in the CPHS Attendance before or after school. In order to receive a parking pass, students must bring their driver’s license, car registration, proof of insurance, and parking permit application. There is no charge for the pass.
All students who drive to school must have the pass displayed while in the school lot.
School Safety
School safety is always on our minds and is our top priority. Thank you for partnering with CPHS to keep our students safe. If you have information or concerns about student safety, please contact us via phone/email or make a report using the link below.
Safe schools anonymous tip line - If you see or hear something, say something.
Safety Reminders for Students
Students should report to a teacher, counselor, administrator, police officer, or any adult in the building if there is a safety concern. It is always better to overreport and be on the safe side.
During school hours (7:00 a.m. to 2:37 p.m.) hats and hoods are not allowed to be worn in our building. This is so that all students can be identified. This is also a part of the CPHS dress code.
Student drivers must remain cautious in the parking lot and near the school. Please remind students to drive slowly and follow the directions of our police officers. All student drivers must have a parking pass displayed in their vehicle while in the CPHS lot and park in a parking spot and not on the curb. Additional parking spaces are available at St. Matthias Church.
Student dismissal is at 2:37 pm. Students who do not have supervised after-school activities should leave the building by 3 pm. Students who are waiting for rides should wait in the lobby of the school near the front entrance.
