Principal's Message
Greetings, Lions family!
We are off to another fantastic start to the school year at Loris High School! Our district’s emphasis on reading will continue as we once again embrace the Superintendent’s Reading Challenge, emphasizing increased literacy in all classrooms and fostering a lifelong love of reading. This will be an intentional effort to rely less on technology and more on interpersonal interaction and discussion in class. On the athletic front, our football team began the season with a resounding victory over Conway High School and are poised to have another great season. Our girl’s tennis and volleyball teams as well as our cross-county team are gearing up for another competitive season.
Parents and students are reminded to regularly check PowerSchool and email for the most up-to-date information on grades, events, and announcements. Finally, we look forward to welcoming families to our Open House on September 1 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., where you will have an opportunity to interact with teachers and other staff as you check the early progress of your student and learn of classroom expectations, happenings and events.
As we move forward, I encourage all students to stay engaged in their classes, get involved in extracurricular opportunities, and take advantage of the many resources available to support their success. We are proud of the energy, positivity, and Lion spirit we’ve seen on campus thus far and I am confident that this will be another year full of growth and achievement.
Thank you all for your continued support, and let’s keep building strong partnerships between home and school. Together, we can make this a truly outstanding year for every student.
As Always, Go Lions!
Sincerely,
Jimmy McCullough
