Holiday Meals Provided by FCCLA & JROTC

Once again, FCCLA is partnering with JROTC to provide more meals during the holiday seasons this year. FCCLA would like to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal to the needy families in the Forsyth area as part of our community service project while JROTC will provide complete Christmas meals as in the past.

The goal for our FCCLA service project is to provide 10 meals to 10 separate families of those in need. In order to do this, I am reaching out to the district to help provide 10 total turkeys for the families in need. If you would like to help with this service project, please respond to this email. Donated turkeys need to be brought to me by November 18th.

JROTC will still be providing complete meals for Christmas in December, but will be including a HAM instead of a turkey. Thank you to FIRST SGT VOEGEL for working with FCCLA in providing not one but two meals to families in need------Thanksgiving Turkey (FCCLA) and Christmas Ham (JROTC).

Forsyth Students Selected For All-District Band

Congratulations to Ryan Cardwell and Cora Crone for being selected for the SCMMEA all-district concert band. They were among approximately 600 students who auditioned from south central Missouri. The performance is scheduled at Nixa High School on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

After a long and rigorous competition, the Forsyth Forestry Team finished 5th in the Nation. This is an amazing accomplishment. Each of the four team members received Gold Emblem Individual rankings with Makenna Carter placing 9th in the Nation as an individual.

Hocus Pocus

For the past two months, Mr. Penton and the FHS Thespian Society has hosted a FREE movie night for the community and students. It has been a wonderful experience where local families and friends can come together for a relaxing night of entertainment. On Tuesday, October 25th, kids of all ages came dressed in costumes for a chance to win some great prizes! It was so much fun to see their smiling faces when their names were called to collect their trophies and rewards! Thespian Society hopes these movie nights will grow and grow so that our Panther families can always have a safe place to watch movies with each other. They will be hosting Space Jam, next month on November 22nd!"

JROTC Hard at Work

JROTC has been hard at work. They recently visited Branson Bank to raise the holiday flag for their Veterans Area appreciation community event. Unfortunately due to high winds they were not able to raise the flag to the top of the flagpole, but the cadets still received accolades from veterans for their professional attempt.

JROTC has also started their marksmanship package and began their HITT (high intensity tough training) workouts on Thursdays. These workouts challenge cadets to perform tasks that appear unachievable, but quickly realize are within their grasp. They must also learn to think on their feet and use teamwork to accomplish their goals.
