Glacier Ridge was thrilled to host Taiko drummer, Eric Paton this past Wednesday, February 25! Mr. Paton showcased an impressive array of traditional drums and instruments for our students. The highlight of the assembly was the hands-on participation, as students eagerly took turns joining in on the drumming!

Fifth grade students also took part in drumming workshops throughout the day. We are excited to see these new talents incorporated into the 5th grade performance this year.

Monday, March 2nd to Friday, March 6th.

*GRE will be hosting a BOOK DRIVE for local schools in need of books. Please donate gently used or new books and drop them off all week to the boxes in front of the library. *

Each day in school, students will have a spontaneous time to “Drop Everything and Read” throughout the week! Please read below to learn the ways we will be celebrating reading with our GRE community! 📚

Monday (3/2) : 🔍GRE Mystery Reader! In class, students will be guessing the GRE Mystery Staff Reader by viewing a slideshow created by the Read Across GRE Committee.

Tuesday (3/3): Read Your Shirt! : Please wear a shirt that has school appropriate writing on it so others can read it! 👕

Wednesday (3/4): Book Drive: Please remember to bring and donate a gently used or new book. In class students will be discussing the meaning of giving back through literacy.🔖

Thursday (3/5): Buddy Reading: You Read to Me, I’ll Read to YOU! Students will enjoy time buddy reading with a classmate or another class! 📚

Friday (3/6) 📖 Book Swap: Please bring your favorite book from home to swap with friends that students can enjoy and read for the day! At the end of day, you will bring your book back home!

Menus are typically posted on the District website >Families >Food Services around the last day of each month for the following month. HERE is the lunch menu for the month of March. Occasionally, the kitchen needs to make a change due to food supply and sourcing, and when this occurs we will communicate this to you the night before, if at all possible.

On Monday, March 2, the posted menu lists Chicken Patty Sliders as the first choice. The substitution is a chicken sandwich. The rest remains the same.
