Breaking The Silence
Mental Health in Latino Families
Presented in Spanish with English Translation
You are Invited to the February Parent/Guardian Workshop
Please join CVUSD’s BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation for a parent/guardian workshop presented by Angeles Small on Monday, February 2, from 6:00–7:30pm. This event will be held virtually.
This FREE workshop will focus on supporting the mental and emotional well-being of Latino children and adolescents, strengthening family communication, and helping parents access tools and resources to support their students’ success.
Workshop Description
Join us for a welcoming, supportive parent workshop focused on the mental health and well-being of our children and families. Raising children comes with challenges, and mental health is an important part of helping students thrive at home and at school.
During this workshop, families will learn about common emotional, behavioral, and academic signs that may indicate a child or teen is struggling. We will discuss how cultural values, family expectations, and life stressors can shape how children experience and express mental health needs.
Parents will gain practical strategies for supporting their children, building open and trusting conversations at home, and responding with care when concerns arise. We will also review when and how to seek additional support, including school-based and community resources.
This workshop is designed to empower parents with knowledge, confidence, and culturally responsive tools to support their children’s emotional health, resilience, and overall success.
