CPACTC Presentation

On Tuesday October 27th the high school hosted Mr. Crispino, admissions and outreach counselor from Cumberland Perry Area Career Technical Center (CPACTC) to speak with students about program offerings and the application process. Mr. Crispino enlisted help from three current East Pennsboro Area High School CPACTC students, Bradley Wertz, Jyllian Coy, and Ryleigh Koretzky, who shared their experiences and how it aligns with their career and post-secondary goals. We hope that the presentation sparks an interest for students who may be considering CPACTC as an option for their programming next school year. Thank you to the CPACTC and to Bradley, Jyllian, and Ryleigh for presenting!

Inner Club Council

Student leaders from across the high school recently came together for the first Inter-Club Council (ICC) meeting of the 2026-2027 school year. Led by Mr. Etter, the group discussed plans for the year, shared updates from their clubs and organizations, and worked together on ways to support student involvement across the school.

The group also spent time planning next week's Club Fair and nominating ICC officers who will help lead future meetings. The Club Fair will feature 19 different groups, including clubs, activities, athletics, and student organizations, and will take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a different grade level attending each day.

We can't wait to see all the exciting activities, events, and opportunities our students will create this year!

LINK Crew Haunted House

On Tuesday, October 27, our EPAHS students enjoyed a spooky tradition that has quickly become a favorite! For the second year in a row, our LINK Crew students designed, organized, and ran a haunted house at the high school, giving students the chance to test their courage and make their way through the fright-filled experience.

The event was a fun way to bring students together and showcase the creativity, teamwork, and leadership of our LINK Crew members. Thank you to all of the students who dedicated their time and energy to making this year's haunted house a success. A special thank you also goes to LINK Crew advisors Hanna Schaffer, Hilary Miller, and Dan Etter for their guidance and support in bringing this exciting event to life.

We appreciate everyone who helped make this spooky experience such a memorable one for our students!

Dr. Margaret Weiss Crouch, Class of 1962

Dr. Margaret Weiss Crouch, a 1962 graduate of East Pennsboro Area High School, has dedicated her life to a field that carries profound lessons for humanity: Holocaust education. Since 1996, she has served as a Holocaust education consultant, working to educate teachers, students, and community members about the history of the Holocaust and the lasting consequences of prejudice, racism, and stereotyping. Through her work, she promotes understanding, acceptance, and respect for diversity in a multicultural society.

Margaret's journey is an inspiring example of perseverance and lifelong learning. Raised in Summerdale as one of four children in a family supported by her father's work at Bethlehem Steel, she knew from an early age that she wanted to become a teacher. Inspired by her East Pennsboro English teachers, she pursued that dream despite significant financial challenges. Determined to fund her own education, she earned scholarships, worked multiple jobs, and spent her summers working while attending college. In 1966, she received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Elizabethtown College. Along the way, she married, raised two children, taught at the college level, and continued her education, earning a master's degree in education from the University of Delaware in 1980 while balancing family and professional responsibilities. She then spent 16 years as an English professor at Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware, including one year serving as an academic dean.

In 1996, Margaret earned her doctorate in education from Wilmington College in Delaware. Her path from a small-town student with little knowledge of Judaism or the Holocaust to a recognized expert and educator in the field demonstrates the power of curiosity, compassion, and determination. For more than two decades, she has devoted herself to researching the history of the Holocaust and sharing its lessons with others. Although she has no personal connection to the Holocaust, her commitment is rooted in a deep sense of humanity and a desire to honor the experiences of Holocaust survivors, including her mentor Dorothy, while ensuring that the stories of those who perished are never forgotten.

Margaret's impact extends far beyond the classroom. Through her doctoral dissertation, The Holocaust in Undergraduate Education: A Status Survey and Interpretive Synthesis of Topics, Textbooks and Resources, she developed curriculum materials that continue to support Holocaust education. She also co-authored a users' guide to accompany a DVD featuring interviews with local Holocaust survivors, liberators, and rescuers, providing invaluable firsthand accounts that can be used in classrooms and communities alike.

Reflecting on her mission, Margaret once said, "If I witnessed a crime, I'd report it. I've witnessed the evidence of this crime, so I must report it." Through her dedication to education, remembrance, and advocacy, she hopes to inspire others to pursue their goals, make meaningful contributions to their communities, and stand against intolerance in all its forms.

Today, Dr. Margaret Weiss Crouch remains an active and influential voice in education, continuing her mission to teach the lessons of the Holocaust and promote understanding, empathy, and respect for others. Her lifelong dedication to learning, teaching, and preserving history serves as an inspiration to current and future generations. Through her work, she reminds us that one person's passion and commitment can make a lasting difference in the lives of countless others and help ensure that the tragedies of the past are never forgotten.

Transportation Transportation

Buses 5, 9, & 11

Panther Families: If your student rides Bus 5, 9, or 11, you may have noticed some new faces behind the wheel recently. At this time, these routes have open driver positions, and our Transportation Department is working hard to ensure all students continue to get to and from school safely and on time. This may require some adjustments in driver assignments as we cover these routes.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we navigate this staffing challenge. If you know someone who may be interested in joining our team as a bus driver, we encourage you to share the information below. Thank you for helping us keep our Panther students moving safely each day!
