Rylee Rustwick: State Qualifier
All season, freshmen standout Rylee Rustiwick has competed ahead of her age. Just a freshman, Rustwick has not only competed with the best all year, but has even cemented a few varsity wins under her belt.
All of her hard work accumulated at the right time on Saturday as Rustwick became a state-qualifier in three events! Rustwick qualified individually in the 500 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard backstroke placing 5th in both events; Rustwick is also a part of the 200 yard medley relay which placed 4th, deeming them state qualifiers as well.
Antonia Buryanek and Harper Rohlena also competed at the district meet in Ames, but came up just short of qualifying. Great season ladies!
Rustwick competes this Thursday and Friday in Iowa City.
Good luck Rylee!
Dance
The North Dance team attended the Western Iowa Critique Clinic on Saturday at SBL and performed their state kick and pom routines. They took home a lot of great remarks from the judges and can't wait to continue to improve before state in less than a month.
The north dance team also volunteered at Sleep in Heavenly Peace last Saturday to help build beds for those that are less fortunate. They worked for 2 hours and built over 35 beds!
Girls Wrestling
Good luck to the girls wrestling team who started their first week of practice last week! The ladies are coming off of a dominant season last year with a 13-3 dual record as a well as a MRAC Conference championship. The girls have four previous state qualifiers on the team, with two girls ranked in the state (Camryn Andersen: #11, Jenna Hansen: #6).
Scrimmage
The girls wrestling team is having an intrasquad scrimmage this Thursday! This event is free to anyone who wants to attend. Check out the flier below for more information.
