ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL INFORMATION
CAR ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
Welcome back to 23-24. Just a couple important reminders. Please remember to pay attention and move your car forward. Additionally, thank you for your patience during inclement weather. If we can all stay focused behind the wheel and NOT distracted by phones, etc... WE can keep the car line moving forward and our children safe! Thanks for your help!
CAR Arrival REMINDERS:
Children exit the car on the passenger side.
ALL students, Kindergarten - fourth grade students exit and enter the car on their own with help from the staff in order to keep the line moving forward.
Move forward in the line.
When the CHAIN GATE is closed, drop students off at the MAIN entrance. Pull up to the curb. You do NOT need to escort the students arriving by car after 9:10am (or IF the service drive gates have been closed) will be required to come in through the front door with a parent. This will allow for safe arrival into the school building.
CAR Dismissal REMINDERS:
Do not block the buses from entering the school driveway.
PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK the entrance drive. Wait at the stop sign. This is a safety hazard. At ALL times BUSES, CARS and SAFETY vehicles must be able to enter the school.
Once the car line is full, ALL cars enter from the north side of the Parkway. Any car on the BRIDGE will be asked to turn left to get in the northbound Big Creek Parkway car line.
DISPLAY your number to the outside.
PULL forward 3 feet to keep the line moving forward.
At the BLUE Recycle Bin, cars take turns as the line moves forward. Numbers need to be hung in the rear mirror so that staff can see the car rider numbers.
STAY IN THE GAME
Berea City Schools and the Cleveland Browns are kicking off their new partnership to promote school attendance as part of the "Stay in the Game! Keep Learning, Every Day" Network.
The "Stay in the Game!" Network is a statewide initiative designed to promote the importance of school attendance and put an end to chronic absenteeism. It promotes quality education by using attendance data and family feedback to build a school-going culture, uncover and reduce common barriers to attendance, and support student engagement opportunities.
DID YOU KNOW?
Regular school attendance in elementary school improves the chances that your child will read on grade level.
The odds of achieving reading success by the end of third grade are reduced by 3% for every day of school missed in kindergarten through third grade.
Absences can be a sign that a student is losing interest in school, struggling with school work, dealing with peer conflicts or facing some other potentially serious difficulty, and help is available.
The odds of graduating on time are reduced by 6% for every day of school missed during high school.
Help your child Stay in the Game and keep learning every day so he or she is challenged, prepared, and empowered for the future.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM MR. IGHNEIM REGARDING PE CLASS
PS
Unfortunately, I have one more item that needs attention. If your child is wearing ANY type of shirt and their belly or back is exposed they will also have to sit out. We do many types of stretches (back bends certain yoga poses, toe touches, etc..) where attire that exposes their belly or back just isn't appropriate for a class setting.
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

BIG CREEK PTA
The district has fortunately been approached by numerous groups and individuals that would like to financially contribute towards students' negative account balances. The district has created a Lunch Heroes Program that will allow anyone to make a donation towards negative breakfast and lunch balances. These funds will be applied at the end of the school year, dispersed evenly to each school, unless a school is specified on the donation form.
Donations can remain anonymous. To donate, complete this form and either mail or drop it off to:
