In Missouri, "flip flops" may infer either footwear or the weather.
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning)
To conserve heating costs, some areas are set to a lower temperature overnight. Dress in layers to remain comfortable while buildings resume a pleasant RealFeel.
If you suspect your heating is failing, monitor individual thermostats and record activity in suspect areas. Submit a Maintenance Direct work order with as many specifics as possible to help us troubleshoot and restore your comfort ASAP. Contact Kathy Pace for assistance with Maintenance Direct.
Schedule & Cancel Events in FSDirect.
FSDirect scheduling ensures building access, temperature control, lighting, custodial services, and equipment set up.
Alpha, Beulah, Blue Ridge, Cedar, Derby, Fairview, Grant, Mill Creek, Parkade, Paxton, Russell, Shepard, and West Boulevard will return to the normal occupied schedules. These buildings are grouped into the Monday - Friday, 8:20 a.m. - 3:20 p.m., school start times. Any event or program outside of these times needs to be on FS Direct to schedule the HVAC.
For scheduling assistance, contact Christy Serrage or Michelle Arnold.
Activities, athletic practice, & contests.
During inclement weather, per the Columbia Public Schools Activities & Athletic Guidelines, CPS administration intends to determine by 10:00 a.m. whether activities/athletic practice and contests may be allowed.
If these types of events are allowed across the district, it is a building decision to proceed with their schedule.
When events are cancelled, help conserve District resources and cancel the event in FSDirect.
Building event snow removal priority.
FCS may prioritize snow removal for those buildings with allowed events scheduled in FSDirect, particularly when school is not in session.
Avoid Snow Removal Priority Areas:
1. Bus loops and driveways
2. Parking lots and walkways
3. Playgrounds and other facility areas
