Week 9 Update
August 29th, 2025

Student School Day 7:50 AM to 3:20 PM
Principal's Message
Pirate Families,
I am excited to announce that with the support of our Child Nutrition Department, we have been awarded a grant to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP). This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce our students to a variety of fruits and vegetables, but also strengthen healthy eating habits and develop strong vocabulary with new experiences. We will begin implementation on October 8th, meeting the following guidelines:
Fresh produce will be offered twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Deliveries will be made to classrooms for staff to serve students at 2:00 PM.
Enrichment activities will be provided to students.
This year, SB12 requires all parents to consent for counseling and other specific guidance topics required by legislation. Please login to your student's family Skyward access and complete your consent by October 6, 2025. If you need any help with family access please do not hesitate to contact our registrar, Krystal Guerrero at (361)790-2260.
Next week is our RFISD Pirate Homecoming Week. We hope our students will participate in each dress up day.
Monday-Pajama Day
Tuesday-Camo Day
Wednesday-Wacky Wednesday with stripes, dots, and plaids
Thursday-Western Day
Friday-Show your Pirate Pride and wear your GREEN and GOLD!
We hope you enjoy the weekend!
Proud to be your Principal,
Mrs. Denise Poland
Thursday is College Day
Every Thursday is College Day! Wear your favorite college, career, or military shirt to show your support.
Let's Show Our Pirate Pride
Each Friday, we'd love to see our students' show their Pirate Pride. We encourage you to wear your green and gold.
Ice Cream Friday is Back
Starting Friday, September 5th, students can purchase ice cream for $1 each Friday. Students may bring a dollar with them on ice cream day or prepay. Families can also add money to the child's lunch account so you don't have to remember to send a dollar each week.
Click the button below to add funds to your student's account.
School Safe ID
School Safe ID is our visitor login system that will be utilized for guests visiting campuses. Visitors will use a photo ID to sign-in and obtain a visitor's pass. This system will also be used for guardians to sign a student in for the day if they are tardy or sign them out if leaving early. Look for the kiosk as you enter the foyer of the campus.
Breakfast is Served
Each day breakfast is offered to all students upon arrival to campus. Breakfast is served from arrival until 8:15 AM.
Students needing bus transportation services must be registered online for bus privileges. Please ensure your student is registered for proper transportation prior to the first day of school.

Our Pirate's Presence Matters
Every day in school matters. When students attend regularly, they build strong learning habits, stay connected with their classmates, and make steady progress toward their learning goals. Even a few absences can add up and make it harder for students to keep up with lessons and routines.
We encourage you to help your child be at school on time each day unless they are ill. Together, we can ensure every Pirate ahs the best opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Thank you for supporting strong attendance at Live Oak Learning Center.
